Scarface steelbook for I think $5 or $6 (blind buy). I figured with the high imdb score and being regarded as a classic then it'd be a slam dunk favorite. I saw it one time. The extras were interesting.

Although I do admit to replaying Tony Montana's speech in the car 'first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women' scene a few times. And I get that its an influential movie that was different than movies released at the time, but maybe just not my cup of tea.
Not going to judge you at all. Just offering some advice. You said you went into it thinking it would be a "slam dunk favorite." Maybe that was the problem. That's some pretty high expectations. I'd say try it again but go into it without those high hopes. You remembered that quote from it so you did get something out of it. By the way, I've never seen the movie.

Very reasonable and rational advice, thanks!

I'll try that out (when I have a spare 2 hours and 50 minutes)

Donít regret any blind buys, just a handful anyways. I do regret a few that I saw when I was younger. They just donít hold up. Still Iíd rate them all 3/5....not complete crap, but stuff I shouldnít have bought.

Way too many to name. Steelbooks are kind an easy one to pinpoint since I do not like upkeep of them considering my collection tends to move around a lot and cases may get scratched.

Feel you on that, I considered getting the steelbook case protectors but never got around to it.

I used to buy Steelbooks, but gave up a while ago. Regular edition is fine with me now.

I'm pleased to say I don't buy as many now, particularly on the double-dipping front. Steel books I don't bother with anymore either, I just find them a pain in terms of scratches or dents. Regular cases are so much better.

Other than that, one double-dip I do regret is ordering the anniversary version of The Exorcist online on eBay, which contained the William Friedkin book in a slip cover. It was a good price too, but when it arrived sealed it was badly damaged (probably from storage). I ended up binning it except for the book.

"Regret" is probably too strong a word. Of course I've bought movies I didn't really end up liking (though I don't know that I've bought any that I outright hated), and knew I'd probably never watch it again, but it's not like I'm paying $25 for a movie I'm not already sure about. Most of my risky blind buys I get budget priced. I regret their clutter more than the money I paid.
