I heard a manager talking about it before. And someone else told me it's free also for employees if they want it.

Just have to ask them and wait.

If it's free I might as well get it then. Opposed to if I need it and then have to pay for it later on.

Late to the convo but yeah, same as RJ. I signed up through my momís hospital site and she gave me the heads up about when to start searching for available times. Donít have insurance at the moment either. The store I work at doesnít administer the shots, but I managed to find a nearby Publix pharmacy that does and got the first appointment of the morning.

The injection itself was a breeze, not painful at all. My arm has been feeling heavy w/ slight discomfort when I lift it halfway, but otherwise I feel fine.

Get yours as soon as you possibly can, guys.

I'm reading Chaotic's older posts lately. Yeah, Pneumonia sucks. I been hospitalized twice because of it before. And with COVID, doesn't make things any better. I still can't believe he's gone. Me and Chaotic weren't that close, but I always acknowledged him for years. Now all of a sudden, he's no longer with us.

RIP.

YMMV but some places have short notice waitlists, if someone doesnít make their appointment the facility will find someone else who can be there relatively quick so they donít have to waste a dose. Once the vial is open it has a short shelf life.

That's what happened with me at work. Apparently some other hospital employee changed their mind so the date of my first Pfizer jab was moved up substantially.

My parents should be fully vaccinated in a couple weeks so it should be good for them.

It actually blows my mind Iíve not had it (at least to my knowledge). Like Iíve been fairly careful, following guidance and distancing, but when things have opened up here in the UK I wasnít particularly overly cautious, I traveled quite a bit and shopped in the high street, drank in the pub and even went to cinema a couple times. And I honestly can really only constitute it to mask wearing, I really canít help but feel a lot of routine and business could continue if we just wore masks and kept mindful, particularly as it was at a time when my areas were seeing the surge in cases and yet things remained running and open.

Also this forum can be hair shreddingly frustrating at times. I know I shouldnít get drawn in, but once someone begins burying themselves into a hole you just want to get to the bottom of it.

Got my second vaccination today. There was a story on the local news saying a lot of people have skipped their second doses.

Ever have someone just sell you a DVD under false pretense that it's the Blu-ray?

Whatís the point in investing the time (and risk) in the first shot if youíre just going to skip the second one entirely?

Anyway, I get my second shot on Tuesday. Already blocked off from work for two days so I can avoid any heavy lifting. Expecting my arm to be slightly heavy like the last time.

I thought about that too - why people are skipping the second dose. Aside from weird scheduling issues, I think its because people are so ingrained about not becoming sick on purpose, especially in this past year or so.

Before this vaccine, the most stressing two-dose vaccine out there was the new shingles vaccine (btw, highly recommend the shingles vaccine if you're 50, my grandma had an extremely bad case). There really hasn't been a two-dose vaccine with this side effect profile in a long while, plus most people just get their vaccines as kids and don't even remember it.
