Only on very specific titles am I interested in certain things like commentary tracks. For the most part, even the BD-Live stuff is gimmicky at best, so far. If / when they ever get to actually useful stuff like downloadable subtitles, IMDB access, etc is where it could get interesting.

Yes I care. Special Features just add to the whole package. For movies like Iron Man, Transformers, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, PoTC etc....I feel SF are really interesting getting to see how the movie came about and was put together.

In the past I voted no. The only time I'd ever even check the special features was if I had some sort of question about a scene or ending or something like that. So, I'd occasionally check to see if I could find an answer. Things have changed slightly now but it's still a mostly no (I voted yes, but not much). I don't buy a movie for the special features or care all that much if they're excluded but I have been at least going through some of them fairly often in the last few months.

For example...

I didn't use to even look on the disc or back cover to see what was included in the special features. Now that I've started using software to track my collection, I've frequently checked to make sure the profile matches. So, I then at least knew what was being provided and occasionally something caught my eye and I watched it. The other part of that is doing a few user reviews and wanting to be able to comment on the special features as well as include a rating in the software I use to track the movies. So, that got me use to at least going through them (at least partially) and surprisingly, I actually thought some of them were pretty interesting.

Another thing I didn't expect from that was seeing how excited some of the directors, etc. were about the movie and particular scenes. I'm not sure what I expected but it was obvious some of them really love their work. It was also kind of interesting to see how luck can sometimes play a role. Watching a special feature on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they talk about a famous scene that people talk about being one of the more artistic (praised/talked about) type shots in the movie and it came out like it did basically just by luck.

I've never been a big fan of special features myself. But I will say that I think that if a movie has had a previous release on DVD with special features, those same features should be included on the BD. ALL of them, not just some. It should be mandatory really.

One example I was disappointed with is Silent Hill.
I actually watched the special features on the DVD, but there's nothing on the BD release If I'm going to double-dip I want at least the same, if not more, then what the DVD had.

In my opinion we need only deleted and altered scenes including alternate ending and a making of documentary. Everything else is useless for me. What we really need is a good menu system of movie (if there are more), audio, subtitle and chapter selection. And when the movie ends the disc must go back to the top menu.

hell yes !

odd how people seem to pass on extras -- for me deleted/extended scenes are essential. (they may have whole sub plots not included in the film ... ) and well done making of's are essential.

For the most part I don't have time to even think about watching bonus features. So I am usually unconcerned if a movie comes with a bonus feature disc or not, especially when so many special features are so predictable because they are saying the same thing that was said about most other movies. I have to really like a movie and know that there are great special features before I begin to care.

When I've enjoyed the movie I just watched, I almost always watch the extras. I haven't checked out a lot of commentaries, but the documentaries can be excellent.
I am disappointed when I get good movies and there's no extras.

I've never watched the extras on any disc....ever!

If I've just invested a couple of hours of my time getting lost in a movie, the last thing I would want to do is have those moments of escapism destroyed by finding out how it was all done.

Talk about killing the magic!

I wouldn't be able to watch the film again without picturing every scene with the directors, cameras and boom mics all in the shot.

The last film I watched all the extras was The Avengers. I'm just not interested much anymore. I may watch deleted/extended scenes, but for the most part it isn't a deal breaker for me.

If there aren't any special features it doesn't mean it's a deal breaker. I usually enjoy commentaries the most. Although mos of the time I barely get around to watching the special features for most of the movies I own.

I have yet to watch a whole movie with any commentary track on so I could probably go without that and not really miss it. But I do like Making-of featurettes, deleted scenes, gag reels, and stuff like that.

I hardly ever bother with special features. I usually barely have the time to watch the actual film, much less enough time to go through hours of supplementary material. Having said that, if it's one of my favorite films, I may check out the "making of" once. Honestly, if they started offering bare bones discs at a lower price point, I'd be all for it.
