Default How often do you blind-buy?

Just wondering how often people blind-buy movies, and what their reasons for why or why not?

Sometimes I just feel like taking a chance on a new movie. I have cut back from my dvd days as BD's cost so much more at this point. I would blind buy more movies if new prices were a little lower.

I know my taste pretty well and I can usually tell from a preview if I'm going to like a movie. So I blind buy quite often those movies I know i'll like and
I just never had time to see at the theater. Another reason is if a certain actor or actress is in it then I know the movie will entertain me. Like Ed Norton and Keira Knightley movies are always good in my opinion b/c I like them a lot so I usually pick up their flicks.

I usually read reviews on here and other places. A lot of times, if the film has 4.5 - 5.0 in the sound department, that becomes a major deciding factor. For awhile, I was pretty hesitant to get Hellboy 2 as I didn't like the first one. I found one on e-bay for $10 brand new and went ahead. Watched it last night, the sound literally rocked my house.

Pretty much all new movies for me are blind-buys.
I don't go to the theater.
When I get a movie, it's usually the first time I see it...

I'm the same way, I know if I'll like a movie for the most part. If it gets bad reviews I'll rent it from netflix, then decide. I only buy movies if I will watch them multiple times.

Don't...Do...It...

My wife drug me to the movie. She kept saying throughout, "Well, you had to read the book." Should that ever be a necessity when seeing a movie? Sure the book often beats a movie, but for the story line to completely fall apart without it.....Ughhhh

I am buying this movie, but only for the wife.....

I voted Occasionally, if I have heard good things.

The blind buys in my collection so far are…

How the West Was Won
Band of Brothers
Space Cowboys
Planet Earth
Flags of Our Fathers
Get Smart
Sleepy Hollow

I've seen them all except Brothers, and most of these I bought on sale as well. Cowboys and Hollow were good, the rest were great.

I blind buy a lot actually and usually end up with movies I enjoy. Like most here, I can generally tell if I'm going to like a movie or not...

(If you're serious)

Not sure I'd recommend this. It really depends on how attractive you find Robert Pattinson. He really gives his all and in my opinion is a great actor. Other than him everything is pretty mixed...

I might not be the best to say. I read the book so most of my disappoint is from the book being done better.

Blind bought "The Fall" and "There Will Be Blood", as i would have put them on my online rental list with Lovefilm, but the new releases take ages to get so i just bought them. Luckily they turned out to be really good films, and excellent HD transfers too . Another one i blind bought on Blu-ray was "Lady in the Water"...soon got rid of it though

Ew you said Lady in the Water and blu-ray in the same sentence. The worst blu-ray I've blind bought would be Across the Universe for sure.
