There is no chance they will sell this for less than $59.99 anytime soon.

Digitally, the Wii U version is STILL $59.99 five years after release. The version without Luigi U was delisted and won't ever be returning.

Physically, Target and GameStop are the only two retailers that carry it, and they're both $59.99.

They have no incentive to sell a Switch version for less when the Wii U version is still full price.

Captain Toad was $39.99 when it was released for Wii U, same price when it was ported to Switch. I hate to agree that NSMBU will msrp for $59.99.

Personally I was hoping for a port of 3D World, I liked it better than the NSMB series.

As far as I know, the only port that jacked up the price is Donkey Kong. Retailed for $50 on Wii U, but $60 on Switch. It’s also a "Nintendo Selects" title, so it’s currently only $20 on Wii U.

As for every other ported game, it’s the same price it was on Wii U.

Which stores have you checked?

Thatís surprising if true. I donít own a Wii U and donít own many games on Switch so I went ahead and ordered for $60. I have 45 days to price match so hopefully some store will lower it in price by then. Iím not a big gamer (Switch is for my daughter), but I love the old 2D Mario stuff!

Walmart and Target. Walmart they told me that they don’t release new games until Monday if they are released over the weekend or at the end of the week and the other Walmart by me said they don’t even have in the shipment and Target said the same thing they do t have a shipment for the game. I went ahead and got the game digitally had to go to Walmart any way to get stuff big snow storm coming my way.

Can’t wait to pick this up. One of my favorite multiplayer games from the Wii U! If you haven’t played it before.. it’s a super fun game for family nite. My kids won’t care that it’s a port from Wii U..

I forgot to pre-order this, so I just ordered it today and it will be delivered on the 16th. If I chose "ship to store" it would have been ready in an hour, but have no way to get to the store. Oh well, it’s only 5 days.

I don’t know how you feel about digital but I got this digitally cause I’m in the middle of a snow storm so I can’t get out. Would have loved to get it physically.

Kids kicked me off of it when they got home from school. Just like MarioKart 8 Deluxe, I never played it on the Wii U so it's all new to me.

The shortsightedness of people these days in the name of instant gratification astounds me.

I never said I preferred physical over digital but I do buy all my Nintendo games physically cause the storage space on Nintendo consoles suck. I brought digitally cause it gives me something else to do while I’m snowed in. And I don’t like waiting.

I picked this game up yesterday due to having never played it on the Wii U and it's extremely fun so far. It's like a mix of classic Super Mario with modern day graphics, it reminds me a lot of New Super Mario Bros 2 on the 3DS from some years back, only with amazing graphics and a lot of attention to detail. I'm only a handful of levels into the game so far, but I can tell I'm going to love this one all the way until the end, much like I did with Mario Odyssey, a game in which I played through like 3 times. Awesome stuff, Nintendo!

Picking it up today. Had a gift card, plus my GCU, bringing my OOP to just under $26. So pumped for this.
