Default Buy one, get one free Disney UK blu-rays - USD $12.50 eac (many with Portuguese subs)

I got an alert from Slickdeals.com that UK retailer Base.com is having a BOGO sale on Disney Blu-rays. Two titles shipped to the US come to about $12.50 USD each. I just ordered 101 Dalmations (not yet available in US) and Pinocchio (discontinued in US), and my total was £15.47, which actually comes to $24.78, or $12.38 each.

Here's a link to the thread on Slickdeals:

http://slickdeals.net/f/7301386-disn...9#post71398402

And here's a link to the sale:

http://www.base.com/landingpage_86.h...e8710cab7827ca

Since these are UK discs, many of them have Portuguese language options, but I expect most of them are European Portuguese. If anybody knows that any of the titles have Brazilian Portuguese, please speak up.

Here's the list of movies, and I think they are all Region Free?:

Monsters University (Blu-ray)

I looked at one of the titles on Amazon.co.uk and couldn't see any special discount. I just went back after reading your message, and now I see the note about the sale. I don't know if they just added it, or if I missed it, but I'm guessing I probably just missed it.

I would have ordered from Amazon if I'd known, but oh well. From what I heard, this other shop I ordered from is reliable.

Okay, I just went to Amazon.co.uk, and for 101 and Pinocchio my shipped total would be 20.07 pounds, which comes to $33.29 (or $16.65 each). So for some reason, the other website is a good bit cheaper than Amazon.

Are these titles all region-free? Particularly interested in Bambi and Pinocchio.

I was researching the "O-ring" covers, and came across this thread:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=241296

...which indicates that Pinocchio and The Jungle Book do not play in Region A players. But other than that, it looks like the rest should be fine. So I cancelled my order for Pinocchio, and went with Aladdin instead.

BTW, I've got a copy of Bambi Diamond Edition that I was thinking to sell. Do you have any interesting trades?

I was just reading through the reviews on Amazon UK, and it appears that the UK release may suffer from the same heavy-handed digital "restoration" as the US release.

Thanks for the info. I was mostly interested in Pinocchio, so I'll pass on this deal. Still, this 2for1 offer is a good deal. Just not for me at this time.

Spanish and UK editions from Disney, there's a lot of Blu-Ray's with european portuguese audio and subtitles, and some don't exist in Portugal.
