If that was the place, then yes, we did meet up about 12+ years ago. Where the hec those years went in between, I have no idea.

I’m up for a get together. Next time anyone is in Taiwan, let me know.

A few guys here in southern CA, right?

My time there is limited, a couple weeks every 2 years. Had floated the idea of going up to Riverside to see callas01 years ago, but the wife was not into it.

Just confirmed my settlement date as June 15th. A little later in the month than what I wanted. However, with the target date, I can begin to order stuff and plan the logistics of the move. Now it starts to get "fun".....

Next time you're in SD, I'm game for Phil's, which I still haven't gone to, or Kansas City BBQ or Lil' Piggies that I mentioned.

I've been wanting to try Phil's ever since you suggested it, but we haven't been to SD the last few months, which isn't normal for us. We're usually down there once a month or so, whether just for a day or a weekend outing.

And I get what you mean about the wife not being into it. I talked about a meet up with Brent (crazyBlue) and a couple of others some years ago but it never panned out. But with SD at least being a stomping ground for us, that makes things easier.

OK, you'll only be an hour's drive away from me then. I used to drive to Pottstown often to pitch quoits with guys from the Pottstown Quoit Club, and to play in some of their tournaments. We could still meet up sometime when you want to have visitors there to experience your new theater setup!

Thank you for posting this. I've had good luck with Onkyo in the past and was disappointed to hear they "went out of business" a few years ago. As I haven't been in a position to upgrade my equipment over the past few years, I significantly reduced my reading about new equipment for quite a while. I realize I'm way late to the party now, but it's cool to see that the brand survives now under PAC.

I know Onkyo isn't a top-tier brand, but it's always served me well (and has continued to do so for many, many years ). I wonder if the current build quality is consistent (or better than) what it was prior to the PAC ownership(?).

The outside of the house is done except the sidewalk, grading and putting down grass seed. Inside, they are putting down the carpet and tile, along with finishing the bathrooms.

So, I am just waiting for my settlement on June 15th. The planning stage for the move can be a logistic PIA, but it is something I need to do accordingly.

No new pics of the house.....all they have left to do is to put in the appliances (washer/dryer/fridge, etc...) and then they are grading and seeding the yard.

Basically, the house is done or will be done in the next few days and then I wait for June 15th, my settlement date. So, I have exactly 1 month from today before I get the keys! If the settlement company wasn't so booked up, I could have settled sooner. However, I am at the mercy of their schedule and availability when it comes to the settlement date, so June 15th it is.

Well, I have bought a crap load of stuff for the house on Amazon yesterday and today (spent over $1,000 yesterday and again today.) I even called my bank to give them the heads up that they will see a ton of purchases on my account and to not be alarmed. This way, they won't have to follow up with me thinking my card was stolen.

Holding off on the HT purchases until I get closer to the settlement date. I have my final walk-thru/inspection/orientation on June 8th. At that time, I am taking measurements with my tape measure to get the exact dimensions of walls and the room. This will allow me to figure out where I can put the TV, the entertainment "hub" and speakers, while maintaining the aesthetics for the family room.

Hey John.
House looks very nice. I like the design, coloring, style, etc. Happy for you my friend.

Have you finalized your TV plan yet? Size, brand/model# ?

My Emotiva has to be sent in for the Right Channel repair. Long story short, it had been going off into protection mode a month or so ago (?), then the right channel started making an audible buzzing so I unplugged the LCR speakers and it (the amp) showed the Right Channel light blinking, so that’s definitely what it is. I’ll be sending it in next week to Franklin, TN., & luckily I had the original box so it’s all packed up and ready. Just need to see who’s cheapest to ship but it looks like it’ll be near $99-120 roughly. I just need to see what the “Quote Price for a Non-Warranty Service” is. Hopefully it’ll be under $250. Shipping back to me is free. Yay. lol

Hey Steve, how ya been?

Any idea what happened? Do you think you pushed it too hard? No matter how slice it, sending back any of our gear for repair is such a hassle and expensive. Hope you find a reliable and cheap courier.

I close on the house is just over 2 weeks.....its coming real fast. I have spent thousands with Amazon in the last week and hauling a sh*tload of boxes to my storage unit daily.

I have Best Buy's TotalTech plan, so the plan is for them to put the TV on the wall for me. However, that means I am limited to getting it at Best Buy, and all of them around me no longer have the LG C2 77" TV in stock. So, now I will need to pony up the extra $800 for the 77" G2. Not thrilled about it, but I don't really have any options. For Atmos, I plan to buy 4 of the SVS Elevation speakers.

Well, house is 99% complete....just need to add the black shutters to the 1st floor window. I think they had to sod (they were watering it as well) the yard instead of seeding it due to the fact we have gotten only .24" of rain all month...which is a record for May.

It is amazing how fast time flies by.

Could you wait a little longer to get the LG C2 77? I'm sure it will be back in stock, or have you heard differently? Or buy it from another retailer and just pay the $199 to have BB install it. That's a savings of $600.

I think you can only use TotalTech when buying a TV from Best Buy, not another dealer. Maybe I should look into that.

As far as waiting, I got to be honest, I have been waiting over 2 years.....I need my HT up and running. I have died a little every day that I did not have it set up and instead being "forced" to watch a movie (i.e. Marvel) with the TV speakers. I think I have the "kid on Christmas Eve" feeling, and I can't wait any longer, LOL!

I just checked my Amazon account and I have already spent over $7,000 on Amazon since last week! (I have nothing for the house, all the way down to a plunger, ladder, pots or pans, etc....)
