English French and Spanish listed - which gives me some confidence this won't have repackagings in it, as you'd undoubtedly include Crouching Tiger if you were including anything you'd already released.

I would assume Call Me By Your Name and Amour and probably at least one Almodovar seem basically certain.

Yeah, I'm wondering if it's all new stuff, or whether they still might include something like Whiplash in it. Also, I get that this is being touted as an anniversary set for this year, but I'm still surprised they're not doing volume sets like the Columbia Classics ones with 5 or 6 films each, as the high price tag here might be a turn-off for many. Even with some price reductions at retailers, we're probably still talking about $250 or more.

It's interesting, though - all the listings for the Columbia Classics sets are accurate and include BDs on top of the 4K discs in the disc count, but the price really suggests it's more movies then the other sets. Wonder if there's no included BDs and it really is like ten movies, even though I don't think Sony's ever done releases without them before. Just the price seems too high for it to be five or six movies.

That said - consider how much Sony has loved rereleasing their earliest 4K titles with Dolby Vision it wouldn't have surprised me to have thrown Crouching Tiger in.

My guess is that we'll get repacked editions of 30th anniversary editions of Glory, Ghostbusters, Dracula, Labirinth,... and hopefully some new ones too.

That's very expensive! Even if all the 11 discs were 4K it still makes 27.27 each disc. If they come in their own cases like Sony usually does it then I'm good just getting the ones I want to own.

Sony Pictures Classics is a specific brand that has only had two films released on 4K (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Whiplash). It's not going to include Columbia Pictures films like those.

That's about normal for MSRP though - it'll retail for ~$210 and assuming there's a normal amount of discount available at release from the usual sources I would think it should be available for around $170. Which is a good deal for ten (or eleven) movies! But, like I said, the price just seems astronomically high if it is just six movies.

I was thinking what films could they really use though? Recent 2K DIs. I remember the Devil's Backbone being a titled listed on Sonys survey for the Volumes Sets. I'd kill for a new scan of The Lives of Others but unsure how possible that'd be.

It also raises the question for... Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmine, two of their highest grossing titles that also each won an Oscar. I wouldn't be surprised to see either be in this, as weird as it may seem.

Capote seems likely as well, high grossing, won an Oscar, Bennet Miller is a friend of the studio who's made all his movies at Columbia (and Foxcatcher could maybe be on the list too).

In summary, assuming ten titles I'd guess something like:

All About My Mother
Capote
Secret in Their Eyes
Synecdoche, New York
Midnight In Paris
Amour
A Dangerous Method
The Father
Call Me By Your Name
