Looks like the mods are deleting the nasty comments in all the UV shutting down threads. Some people have been downright rude to others.

Regarding UV ending, I am not happy but life goes on. I'll do what I can to preserve my movies in my account, no need to freak out imo. But thats just me, YMMV.

And here is Vudu's current position. Take it how you will.

UV attempted to fix the problem but were unsuccessful and Paramount hasn't replied to any of the 3 support tickets I've opened. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this resolved, as I assume I need to get this done sooner rather than later with the upcoming UV shutdown.
My problem last year was my Paramount account won't link to UV even though on the UV side, it shows that they are linked. Because of that, a movie I redeemed on Paramount is not flowing to UV & VUDU. The solution then was to create a new UV account and that new UV account linked successfully to Paramount. The Paramount movie flowed to the new UV account. Then I merged that new UV to the main UV. Eventually the movie moved to the main UV and showed up on VUDU.

I used to own some Sony UHD that are not available in VUDU, but I have contacted Sony pictures to exchange UV rights for MA rights (they send new code after removing movie from UV locker).

This part is scary. How are we going to fix linking issues now?

Unlinking your UltraViolet account before the shutdown will result in permanent loss of access to titles in your UltraViolet library.

So far, all my UV titles are on VUDU. I just wish they are all in MA as well.
I'm hoping Paramount, Lionsgate, MGM and others join MA.

I am down to one movie trapped in UV limbo (having replaced the others with US codes that worked). But if in Europe, will I have access to any of my movies? does not seem that will be the case.

I have some Sony UHD, I have to look, but it's only 4 titles I think. Also Les cowboys HD UV and Disaster Artist UHD (supposedly UV) that are both trapped in FN (Les cowboy is simply not UV in Vudu, Disaster Artist is another problem entirely)

Here UV has only redeemed through Flixster or for some Sony titles the Sony Movies website. Has been rundown over last year as studios moved to other platforms. As at late 2018 only Warner still seemed to be adding new titles like The Meg.

Fox, Universal and Lionsgate all moved to Google Play although over 50% of their new titles don't seem to come with digital copies any more. Universal for example is hit and miss as Blackkklansman did not have a digital copy last month but First Man out in a few weeks according to retailer pack shots online does have a digital copy (which if it does have one would be for Google Play).

Not bought any new Warner this year, next would be Aquaman to see if they provide codes.

Sony seem to have given up digital copies in UK as Venom doesn't have one and that must be their biggest title so far in 2019.
Yep UK too.
All licenses will be held in flixster which is being ran by Warner Bros for the time being. I reached out this morning before the UV site went down and spoke to Flixster support. The main issue is if MA launches in the UK it likely won't back port UV titles unless they do something special.

Over the last 6 months the UV aspect of digital copies was phased out (branding wise) but it still gave you a UV license. The only difference will be UK UVs/Digital copies (not itunes ect) now redeemed won't port to the US services as they won't be linked to the UK Flixster/WB library. So they are near worthless considering Flixster playback support/quality but we have to pray on MA pulling through. I think it will just be WB using Flixster in future until MA comes to the UK and it is sunset.

At least Vudu puts this part in writing:
If you have an UltraViolet Library linked to Vudu, rest assured that all of your movies and TV that are linked via UltraViolet will continue to be accessible at Vudu leading up to the shutdown and after, including titles purchased from other retailers that are imported into Vudu from your UltraViolet Library.

Giving some small hope that at least Vudu will try to retain movies from other providers.

I have maybe half a dozen like this and have held off exchanging for MA codes in the hopes Vudu would add them in 4K. I guess I will monitor what happens and if it isn't happening and Sony is still willing to give new codes (not really sure about that with all their changes) I will go that route. But I do know people with a lot more 4K "stuck" in UV so the former route would be a lot better for all.

Who ya gonna sue? An insolvent entity in the process of dissolution?

What does the fine print say about having viewing rights for perpetuity?

I have the documentary "The Dark Knight Reborn" which was from CinemaNow. Will it be lost forever? It doesn't show up in VUDU.

Lionsgate still did TV digital codes after they dropped UV, but at least one (The Walking Dead Season 8) was a Wal-mart/Vudu exclusive. It'll probably be all over the place until MA/other-tv-locker-system comes in to coalesce digital TV purchases.
Hopefully MA will combine with what service TV winds up on, but even assuming it does, that could be a ways away.

I guess 4K foreign codes that are are HDX only on VUDU (especially Sony) will be gone forever (unless VUDU comes up with a system of recording your UV rights and not just transferring these titles in the highest quality available at the time).

Can you even watch it now? Sounds like it may already be lost unless it is an iTunes extra.

I interpret that as simply saying if you do not have your UV account linked to Vudu at point of shutdown then there will be no way to preserve your UV content, which I would think to be obvious.

Well, that's not unexpected ...

Also, wasn't the Sony Movie Store supposed to close today (1/31/2019)? Has anyone heard anything about the UHD movies that were available in this store but only HD on Vudu? I guess if Sony closes down we can forget about that ...

No, I'm in an infinite loop. In UV it tells me to go to Fandango and Fandango tells me to go to UV.

I'd include Amazon in that list. But yes, that's what some of us have been saying for years.
