You mean a Blu-Ray release of it?

Err, yeah. I mean, that Japanese version looks like it does the job pretty well, but at that price, it's something I would keep for myself (and not gift to someone)

SEED: LOL, and people complain that Wing was derivative.

This is great news, I was just about to buy the DVDs of G Gundam. I love that dumb show, I will definitely buy that one. But sadly it may be one of the last ones they release. As I'm sure the original stuff and newer Seed gets released first.

Agreed, the cheesiness of G Gundam and the gundam designs makes it one of my favs.

They'll prioritize on what's already been released in Japan; most likely the series which have been out for a while (so that might be good news for Zeta/ZZ fans).

Are both versions of Endless Waltz going to be included on Blu-ray? (OVA and movie versions). Also what about the Wing retelling OVA that never sold outside of Japan, Operation Meteor? That would be awesome, considering it never left the country.

No better time to start! With them releasing the original, that is a great place to start. I'm confident you'll enjoy it. One of the best!

I'm looking forward to it. I've always wanted to get into it, but missed out, and then kept missing out, and kept missing out...then 50 billion episodes/movies later, I didn't even know where to begin.

Now that has been answered.

The main story in UC is First -> Zeta/ZZ -> Char's Counterattack. You can branch out and fill in the blanks from there.

I totally forgot that I have a few volumes of Zeta on DVD, I enjoy the show but don't know if I want it on Blu. While good it not as re-watchable as some of the other Gundam shows.

I am not entirely sure what they mean. Are these going to be released in the same fashion as UC and the limited editions with English dub or are they rereleases of the already existing Japanese blu-ray boxes? I've been meaning to get the Japanese boxsets for a long time but waited and hoped they'd rerelease them again to include English dub like UC and if not go ahead and buy the Japanese boxes. Or are they just going to be completely new sets with less physical and disc content?

Looking forward to checking out Gundam in affordable, English-friendly releases.
Because of the situation with Macross, I just got that expensive Macross Plus JP set. Overpriced as hell, but glad I loved the animation, and pretty decent story. Beautiful animation takes precedence over story for me, so I wonder if anyone can recommend any other Macross BDs that are worth the cost... and are any of the others English friendly? (sorry it's off topic) After 25 years of sporadically trying out anime in dribs & drabs, I recently got the bug . And by "beautiful", that would also mainly mean hand-drawn for me.

I recently bought the Macross Frontier 2-movie set which apparently contains English subtitles. It, and the Macross Plus set are the only copies to ever have English subs so far.

Did Righstuf say they were bringing the Gundam stuff to BD? I was only aware that they had the distribution for DVD.

Anyway, if they are doing BD, I really hope they give us Wing first followed by Zeta.
