I think the shoo-in titles are Orlando, The City of Lost Children, Run Lola Run, Call Me By Your Name and an Almodóvar film, probably Pain and Glory.
My guess list: Orlando The City of Lost Children Run Lola Run Pain and Glory Call Me by Your Name The Fog of War Pollock Kung Fu Hustle Midnight in Paris Foxcatcher Last edited by Brad1963; 09-06-2022 at 06:37 PM. |

Wow, huge news. I love these big 4K sets. Man, if any/some of these are included I'll be so happy:
Regardless of what's in there, Sony Pictures Classics has such a deep and high-quality catalogue that I'll be getting this no matter what makes the cut. I'd think Crouching Tiger will definitely be in this. The Sony Pictures 30th Anniversary celebration at Telluride Film Festival this week was Crouching Tiger, with Michelle Yeoh present. Nope, Sony went out of its way to acquire and reacquire all rights to the library a few years ago. Just one of those things the company decided was something they wanted to be a thing the studio is associated with. Criterion clearly has an agreement in principle to bring them out at their usual pace but Sony can do whatever they want.

Dogtown and Z-Boys is the only one from that classics page I'd have any interest in and I doubt it would be part of any classics collection put on 4K UHD home video. Maybe just the digital promo only, and saddled w/ 1080p at tops.

Sony released Criterion titles in previous 4K box sets (Dr. Strangelove, Anatomy of a Murder). Also, there is already a German 4K release of Howard’s End, so it’s prime for a Sony 4K release (which will probably be of even higher quality). |

So my Wishlist of 11 will be
Incendies A Separation The Father The Lives of Others Amour A Prophet Vanya on 42nd Street Midnight in Paris Black Book Howards End Rachel Getting Married Carnage Tried to limit 1 per director. If it would contain just half of that - I'd buy it. |
