I just received my HP movies from Warner and I ordered them seperately but got HP Order of Phoenix on HD-DVD instead of blu-ray the rest were all blu-ray but what gives?

I"m going to call Warner right now and make a complain.

Has anyone reported this problem with the single releases?

It seems this wasn't an isolated incident... at least 3 people already with the same issue... someone at Warner needs firing. I think I'll open my box set at the store when I buy it just to be sure.

yes I just did if you look above on a previous post of mine in this thread. I ordered the whole set individually instead of the gift set and I received The Order of Phoenix on Hd-Dvd instead of the blu-ray.

And it may not have been an accident! I mean, how could this happen? They aren't even manufactured in the same location, are they?

Further, I wonder if this will give Warner yet another reason to pick a side quickly? If this is a major problem and they need to recall thousands of sets, I'll bet they move quickly.

This would have to mean that the Blu-ray and HD-DVD production lines were pretty close together right? Or do they just order the disks and then put them in their covers later at a different location?

Maybe this was a Toshiba payoff to Warner to have them deliberately screw these expensive box sets up in order to get Blu supporters to buy an HD-DVD player.

Just kidding.

For real though, this is really weak. Warner needs to get their head out of their butt, educate their own people all the way down the chain or pick a side (preferably Blu-ray) so this kind of BS does not happen again.

BTW: My set was all Blu, just like it's supposed to be.

Well see, this sucks for people that don't know any better. The average consumer is a certified retard. Lets hope they return it cause it's not working, and not buy an HD-DVD player just so they can watch the disk. lolz.

Hadn't heard about the mix-up. Are they shipping some Blu-ray boxsets with HD DVD discs? That would suck. I promised my wife I would wait until I got home tonight before opening up the set, so I'll have to wait until then.

Ok so I've examined the "HD-dvd" of the Order of Phoenix that I got in my order from Warner and the case is an Hd-dvd case and the shrink wrap has an Hd-dvd sticker on it. However the cover art says its blu-ray on the side and on the back. So looks like this was a packaging mistake.

My question is should I open it and see if its a blu-ray inside or should I just send it back? I don't really want to go to the trouble of sending it back and waiting to get it again but I don't want to open it and have it turn out to be an HD-dvd disk I do have an extra empty blu-ray case lying around if it does turn out to be a blu-ray disk inside.

Default Go figure

Holiday rush...you'd think they have it all sort it out though...

I will wait to buy the box set once this gets straightened out...

Or, open it before you leave so the retailer can do something about it right on the spot!

I have no plans to buy this on any format and if I were in the OP's shoes I'm sure I'd feel differently, but does anyone else find this really, really funny?

I cracked up when I first saw a picture of it on another forum.

I've heard of low handed attempts to boost the HD-DVD numbers but this takes the cake!

Let's include it in a Blu-ray box set that will actually sell!
