Yesterday I bought a nice sofa and love seat. I don't know what the material is, faux leather maybe? They're power reclining and were half price.
I went to that store to look at another set that I saw online and while the Sales Lady was taking me to it, the set I bought caught my eye.

My girlfriend dragged me to the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Tuesday. They were having a 50% off sale on footwear.

I found a pair of genuine, Canadian Made Kaufman Sorel "Black Diamond" boots. Since Kaufman went bankrupt in 2001, Columbia has been making "fake" Sorels in China and Vietnam .

They looked sad. They had one shoelace...brown. One drawstring was missing. They were dirty and stained. But I saw that they had NO damage, virtually no wear on the soles and they had nice felt liners. These are CSA Aprroved workboots with steel toes and armored soles. They are big and heavy.

I bought them. I worked on the stains, washed them, waterproofed them and dressed the leather and the rubber. I used paracord to make new laces and I ran a new drawstring. They have returned to near new condition.

These boots rang up at $4.99CDN (approx.$3.80US)!

I found another stupid cheap deal.

I bought a number of coats and jackets earlier in the year so I have carefully tried to avoid any bargain jackets at Value Village. That's not easy .

But I made a $6.49CDN ($4.90US) exception today.

I found this jacket from the Winnipeg Flying Club. I was a member in the mid/late 1970s but the club, which was one of the oldest and largest flying clubs in Canada, closed down in 2005. This is one of the flight jackets made (in Canada) for the club. It's a bit big for me (my waist is bigger and my chest is smaller than it was in 1976) but it's close enough. I removed a small mineral deposit with a damp brush and now it's as good as new.

The Grudge on Blu-ray for $5 dollars. I've been waiting to find a cheap copy of this movie on Blu-ray and finally found it.

Two tickets for The Irishman on Tuesday. Looks like our go-to cinema is only playing it once all this week. I don't even know the wife's schedule yet, so the second ticket may go to waste unless I can convince my brother to go see it with me.

To be honest i dunno . all i know is its a Netflix movie that is actually being shown in theaters. That said I'm a big fan of mobster films like goodfellas and casino so I was interested in seeing it

ink cartridges for my printer. i don't buy the same brand as the printer. i buy an off-brand since i can get all 4 cartridges for less than what one brand-name cartridge costs.

i get the same amount of ink and the same quality of print. so spending less for 4 cartridges than i would for 1 seems like a no-brainer to me.
