Cool, thanks for looking it up

I'm now glad I didn't have any money bet on it!

And the elitist comment came from someone else ( in case you are thinking I said it ).....

ps

I can't even think of what it is you are talking about that may or may not of been said about me.
So I guess I didn't think that it was ( whatever you are referring to ) or I don't care enough to remember what it was...

I think Sentai has it streaming on their site, I'm sure it'll get released eventually. Haven't seen Rahxephon, was always told it was a bad Evangelion clone.

It was interesting enough I thought..
Well, enough to watch it twice over the years before selling my copy of it anyway

It's worth a watch I think if you can get it for a good price

ps
I say this without knowing what it's going for these days

I actually like Rahxephon more than evangelion. Its plot makes more sense. I hope sentai does release it

Influenced by Eva yes, but a bad clone no. It's worth a watch IMO.

The Japanese BD set came out back in 2011, though it's kind of a mediocre upscale IIRC. I'm surprised Sentai hasn't released it by now seeing as they've had the streaming rights for years.

Apparently Sunrise still hasnít sent Sentai the materials. If they donít do it soon enough, Sentaiís license will expire and then someone will have to re-license it (typical anime licenses are 5-7 Years).

Sentai rescued a bunch of interesting title's from Sunrise in that deal, it's a shame they look to be a pain to deal with. s-CRY-ed, Betterman, Infinite Ryvius and Z-Mind are great shows that still haven't gotten released.

Rahxephon isn't from Sunrise. Media Factory released the JP BD set and they control the license I believe. You might be thinking of Brain Powerd which was Tomino's take on Eva.

That whole materials situation with Sentai and Sunrise is a mess though.

True those are some good shows. I still have the bandai scryed complete series still thank goodness. It was one of the first anime i got when I started collecting. I've always wanted to get infinite ryvius too but you can't anymore.

I'm also surprised it hasn't been re-released. The very last release for the series was back in 2009 shortly after the restructure. It's been legally streaming for 10+ years, and it's been OOP for nearly 10+ years.

RightStuf delisted that release in early 2014.

RahXephon was animated by BONES, though they've never held international rights to anything to my knowledge.

When I said that about Rahxephon, I meant it in a general sense about international materials from distributors not being made available.

And yet Sentai still streams Rahxephon on HiDive.

And continue to do absolutely nothing beyond that. I'm still just puzzled as to why the heck the last release was in late 2009 under ADV and there's been nothing under Sentai, Maiden Japan, or Aesir Holdings. Like what's the problem? Do they think it won't sell well enough on disc and thus want to hang on to streaming rights they've renewed at least once, indicating it still has an audience for streaming?

Rahxephon has upcoming Blu-rays in Europe by Nipponart (Germany) and Dybex (France). Both won't be english friendly but it's a sign of hope.

The JP release isn't prohibitively expensive.

It’s prohibitively expensive for many people. I got mine “used” (not really though) from Mandarake because it was the cheapest at ~$220 shipped. On Amazon JP it typically goes for •28000 - •32000 + shipping, which is significantly more than even what I paid. It’s more than many Aniplex of America releases, which hordes of people complain about and/or cannot afford.

We’re just lucky that we have the financial ability to own it. Truly, it is a lovely release.

A Japanese release being more expensive than an Aniplex of America release? Shocking. AoA's releases are about half the price of Aniplex Japan's releases.

Adding to how big an epic fail his statement was, in many cases, they can be a quarter, or even eighth the price of the JP BDs.

He stated that the Japanese release was expensive to many people, pointing out that it's more expensive than AoA titles, which are a premium brand in the U.S. and some people think they are too expensive. Not seeing the epic fail in his statement.

Whatever I'll get back to my corporate anime-sub forum handbook. I'm on chapter 3 "Did you post in the wrong thread?"
