Do you have the blu-ray and if so have you done a A -> B comparison, it might be an issue specific to my setup, so will investigate further ?

As soon as I am able to, I will try to post som comparison pictures, I can screengrab directly from the blu-ray but not from the iTunes version, so I will have to figure something out for the 4K version

I donít have the Blu-Ray to compare it to. All I know is it looked good to me.

Especially the the black crush, the blu-ray was really dark, but still had decent shadow detail, but on the 4k DV version the blacks are crushed and there is absolutely no shadow detail remaining in the near black range

I am on a ISF calibrated Sony 77" A80J and this is some the worst black crush I have ever seen, so I can not recommend it, and I will stick to the blu-ray when I want to watch The Man From Nowhere.
I watched the beginning of the movie on my LG C9 and I am noticing black crush. I also have the new LG C3. I will check if I see it on that as well.

Edit: I watched it on my C3 and I'm not seeing black crush as much.

Crushed blacks could be a filmmaker's decision as well as they seem to be revisiting and tinkering to take advantage of modern tech and tools.

Wolf of Wall Street has crushed blacks that impacts few scenes.

That's true, but when the blu-ray from the same publisher and probably the same 35mm scan shows significantly more shadow detail, then my alarm goes off .....

None of the transfers are from the 2K DI, because there are visable 35mm specs / dust / and damage visable on the transfer on both the 4k and the blu-ray and in the exact same places, so that points to the same master being used for both the 4k and blu-ray.

And I know that you can ad digital film grain and emulate 35mm wear and tear, and damage digitally, but I don't think that is case here, because I watched it in the cinemas upon release and ther the damage was not present as far as I remember...

Further more i'm 99% sure that this is not form the original negative or even a interpositive, but from a 35mm print, because of all the minor damage to the transfer, but that's just my take on it, and I have written Well Go USA, about the black crush and asked if they can provide information about the 4k transfer and mastering process, so let's see if they can provide some information about the transfer

As a new listing, I guess. The version I bought ages ago when it was first released did not upgrade. My daughter grew out of that movie years ago, so it's no big loss.

Itís not a ďnewĒ listing for the 4K upgrade. It was relisted years ago when Dreamworks bounced around between studios. Know the current listing under Universal has been around at least three years (per my MA history):

It’s been 5 years, according to Cheapcharts that particular listing has been in the store since Feb 2018.

I think I have asked this before.

Are the audio details listed on a movie 100% accurate?

There are few non-English films I am interested in but some show English as the primary language.

Very rare that they aren't.

Trolls. A nice bump (Old V New)

Audio is DD+ most likely 7.1 going by the bit rate of 640 Kbps.

Code:
HD - SDR - AVC - DD	7	10.8	384
4K - HDR10 - DD 14.57	24.43	640
