The reason why I don't post about movies is I rarely watch them. My interest is TV shows and yes I do post in that section.

I post about financial decisions because I had over 30 years experience with them at the highest levels of Corporate America. When a corporation is looking to buy an $80 million dollar Mainframe, there are a dozen executives involved in that decision from the CEO all the way down to the VP of IT.

And if they don't want to buy but instead they want to lease it, the banks that I represented in such a transaction want to know the inner financial dealings of the corporation they are considering lending their money to. So I can read a balance sheet and look for what is not there.

And that knowledge and experience can be used in discussions here at BD.com when the subject comes up.
I think someone is compensating.

Beautifully shot show with some of the best action I have seen in a long long time.
Congratulations! The world is now your oyster...at least as far as physical media is concerned.

You know the irony is that tv shows are kind of the bread of an all you can eat buffet of the streaming world. If you only watch tv series then the savings streaming offers isn't all that good.

examples
I bought community for 20 dollars to break even in value streaming you would need to watch around an hour and a half of the show everyday for the whole month.
weeds cost around 16 dollars and would require that you watch 45 hours of the show in a month to break even streaming the show vs just buying the show.
dbz cost 90 dollars and you would need to watch around 45 mins a day for 5 months to get equivalent value streaming. I also sold it for like 110 to 120 dollars so I'm not sure how streaming could ever offer a better value then that.

and those are the values if you bought something and watched it only once. if you watch something 2 or 3 times over a few years then the streamer would need to be putting in 120 hours a month to get equivalent value streaming.

Really most tv series are long and rather cheap unless you watch them like a full time job on a streaming service you probably could have gotten better value buying the disc and almost definitely could have had better value buying the disc and then selling it when your done.

Yes, how dare we be passionate about movies ? The horror.
Maybe that's your problem. You're not passionate about anything, except money.
That much is clear now.

So glad I watched Willow as it's supposed to be removed today or tomorrow. It is very much like a LotR or Game of Thrones with less brutality.

May try to get to The One and Only Ivan if there's still time before it's gone.

Will purchase Willow (series) if it's headed to Disc.

In the meantime, couldn't pass up the deal on Perfect Blue currently for $18 at Amazon. This is a movie I only had online but I like it enough to buy it.

Folks, a friendly reminder. Discourse in this thread should be even handed and respectful. Name calling and baseless accusations of subterfuge will not fly and, going forward, will be sanctioned more heavily. And please stop talking specifically about one another.

We have Apple One which is currently like $33/month!

I had some fun today discovering how many albums I like that are available in ATMOS surround sound. There's quite a lot on Apple Music.

Later this year may look into Apple Music, they, like some others offers a 10% discount for vets. Have had Pandora for many years, upgraded to Pandora Premium sometime back with my VA discount. May give Tidal a trial run. My Yamaha AVP has Napster, SirusXM, Pandora, Spotify, Tidal and Dezzer apps built-in, also has an AirPlay app (here).

Via Net Radio it has airable (here) with thousands of music sources.

Tidal has noticeably better sound than Pandora, even the second tier plan at 12.99 per month.

I only pay about $8 a month for Pandora. It is used mostly for background music. The one feature Pandora has is radio like playing. I create a Smooth Jazz radio station with an artist like Paul Hardcastle then Pandora will play other music of similar type. Does Tidal have a similar feature? Currently have about 20 Pandora stations.

For serious music listening I have a music server (Synology) with all my CD's (FLAC) and other music on it.

Yes it does. Similar to the Channel setup with Pandora where it will create "like music" based on your tastes, Tidal will play similar music based on an artist who you like.

Ordered Avatar 1 & 2 on UHD BD
Still on the fence about the 3D. Maybe I'll watch the second one and then decide.

Avatar is cool in 3D but my favorite 3D BD remains Shark Night.
