Default Hot Plug issue

I couldn’t find a thread on this so I made one. I have a new Vizio V series 4K tv and sometimes a message pops up says Hot Plug if I turn my Apple TV on before the tv and it does it when I unplug and plug the HDMI back in. I bought a new HDMI cable today and still said the same thing cause the Apple TV was on before the tv was. Anyone know what’s wrong is it a serious issue?

I think it is what you basically describe, you're turning the TV on with a HDMI device active, so the display is just informing you. Cold plugging would be having one or both devices turned off before connecting them.

Hot plugging is connecting active powered devices together, which HDMI is capable of, but it can cause glitches or damage to the components (you often get sparks around the connectors), I would assume that it's the TV detecting an already on device that's causing the pop-up and not a great concern.

But whilst you shouldn't have issues hot plugging, I wouldn't overdo it.
