Thanks a ton Quint van der Vaart for The Aviator mini review. How about availability of English subtitles ? A shame on Warner for not including lossless audio on Aviator despite 20 GB free space.

Thanks my dear friend. freerecordshop.com have listed it for 14.99 EUR. Works out to 16 EUR incl shipping after VAT which I think is quite reasonable.

Quint,

Are all the extras from The Aviator accessable with a Region A player?

Does it include the commentary?

No commentary on this release.

I am not sure if you can acces the extra's with a Region A player but I would guess so as the disc is region ABC.

Default German BD review is up

PQ: 87/100
SQ: 70/100

Extras presented in 576p / 1080p.

PQ: 5/6
SQ: 4.5/6
REGION A, B & C

Requesting owners to check and confirm if it's region free.

Dutch reviews - Reported to be Region Free

Why am I so desperate to pick up the import version over the stateside version ? Simply because of the presence of lossless audio and probably a better encode.

AVSpec of Warner version

Code:
VC-1	1:59:55	17,731,037,184	18,340,987,450	19.71	16.37	DD AC3 5.1 640Kbps
6.7 GB of free space but no lossless audio which gives us enough room to criticize WB.

Id also love to know how the german (euro?) release compares to the USA release in terms of Picture quality and audio quality.

Anyone?

And can someone with the German/Dutch version run it through "BDInfo" so we can get a full spec like in the post above.

Huge thanks for any assistance.

German BD with DTS-HD MA & No English subs

U.S BD

I am not keen on importing Michael Clayton like I did for The Aviator (Dutch Import) due to high pricing and non-availability of English subs.

I hope that owners of the German or Dutch import post their impressions.

Wow, thanks for that.

From the single image example, both versions each have their pros and cons.

Really? The US version looks like crap in comparison.

Thats what I thought at first, but the USA versions color is correct. The German version has a green or yellow cast to it. And whilst the USA version is way too dark, the German version is a tad too light. Also German version has finer detail. If I had to pick one I'd say German, but its not without its own problems.

Michael Clayton (Blu-ray Disc)

Aspect Ratio: 2,40:1
Audio: Deutsch DTS-HD 5.1, Englisch DTS-HD 5.1, Deutsche Untertitel für Hörgeschädigte möglich, Audiokommentar in Dolby Digital 2.0
Extras:
Making of (ca. 20 Min.)
Deleted Scenes (ca. 6 Min.)
Deleted Scenes mit Audiokommentar Tony Gilroy und John Gilroy
Darstellerinfos

A shame on Warner.

Sorry for the typo.
I have that title on US HD-DVD. The PQ is fine but the sound also is only Dolby Digital Plus. Quite disappointing. there was a lot of discussion recently about how WB is treating it's customers. They promised better release quality in the future..
