Question Watching a 3D blu-ray in 2D

Let's say I want to play a 3D bluray in 2D. What 2D image will I see? From what I've read, I will only see one eye's image.

Now take a look at Wizard of OZ:

See how the objects and characters on the 3D version have been manipulated? What I'm wondering is if I force this to 2D, will those manipulations be visible? or will I be seeing the proper 2D image without the movement of the background and foreground objects?

Thank you

Usually, you'll see the image intended for the left eye. If it's a conversion, the image will have been manipulated. Some animated 3D movies, like Tangled for example, have also had their background camera focus altered for the 3D version. The 2D standalone disc is often better optimized for 2D, and 3D for 3D.
