lets hope they don't leave out some hugely popular song that drastically changes the movie.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

As for extras, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the same extras from the Kermit 50th Anniversary DVD (would be nice if the Camera Test from the Sony DVD was ported over too). I wish Disney could go all out with this release. Nevertheless, I will buy this.

Watched Its a Very Muppet Christmas movie last year, didn't enjoy it as much as the theatrical muppet films. Wasn't as funny imo.

Disney should also release the John Denver/Muppet 'A Christmas Together' television special - I don't think I've seen the full length show since it's original airplay. The album though is a classic.

Good grief, it's a running gag.

Cannot wait for this as I loved this from the moment I first saw it. I can still remember Kermit singing Rainbow Connection on The Academy Awards.

Hey, heads up guys. I just noticed this movie got added to Netflix and you can watch it in HD, I know it probably won't have the quality Blu-ray release, but it should be a nice preview of what to expect from the an HD transfer of this movie.

This news made my day. I am one of those people that loves seeing films back in theaters regardless of the shape of the print that has been shown. So earlier this year Cineplex Theaters put some family classics back in theaters up here in Canada and one of those prints was The Muppet Movie.. Granted the film definitely showed its wear and age but the sound was still pretty good (for a print that was 33 years old) I always wondered why all of the other Muppet films had made it to Blu-Ray and not the first movie.

I just hope the source elements are in great condition in order to do the disc up properly and hopefully they give it a quality film like image.. Props to Disney..

The Muppet Movie is now on Netflix. Watched it last night, and it was a treat. Haven't seen it in years.

I caught The Muppet Movie on Netflix too, last week. Still a great movie, really holds up. Can't wait to get this on Blu, I'm sure the quality will be superb.

Super excited for the release, but the cover that BR.com has in the film's profile is horrendous.
