Nice, finally more of Lynch's works is coming to BD in the US. I'm looking forward to this along with Eraserhead from Criterion.

Just another example of why there needs to be a site like this one that reviews the video and audio quality of iTunes content.

As for this latest revelation, I'm SUPER excited. Twin Peaks is one of the best shows to ever appear on TV and will look stunning in HD. Can't wait to hear more about its release.
They are true 1080p. The 720p versions were available first, but the upgrades were free to anyone who bought those versions. They look fantastic.

If only they could have this out tomorrow...I'm gonna meet Kyle MacLachlan at the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival in a couple of weeks and so it'll probably be my DVD set that gets autographed.

I've seen the iTunes versions and they look great, apart from the odd effects shot. The effects were all done on standard-def tape, much like The Next Generation, so there's a noticeable drop in quality when they appear. They're few and far between though, and generally far simpler than that of Star Trek, so redoing them should be far easier than with that series.

I've always suspected that the cost of redoing all the effects was the main thing standing in the way of a Blu-Ray release, but this news would seem to imply that they will be redone.

Aaaah my favorite TV show is finally coming to Blu! Can't wait!

I will always remember meeting David Lynch in LA (I was 15 or so) and telling him how much I love Twin Peaks even though BOB gave me nightmares XD

Awesome. I love Twin Peaks...I just wish it was a little more focused on the story elements that really matter. At some points it gets so caught up in the soap opera antics of a million different characters that rewatching the entire series can be a bit of chore..

I can finally put my Twin Peaks DVD's to bed. The BD's should be spectacular compared to how we watched the show when it originally aired.

Heard of it. Always wanted to watch it. Blind buy.

EDIT: It would be great if XFiles hit BD as well!!
