One of the most beautiful looking movies of all time. Every frame is exquisitely staged by David Lean & the great cinematographer Freddie Young.

It should look incredible in 4k

Thank you Sony Pictures!

This looked pretty great on Netflix back when they had it. Even without HDR.

Need this. I saw it was announced as part of TCM's "Big Screen Classics" next September as well.

Its good - but not great. There are scenes which IMO go on too long and the overal runtime ends up rather bloated because of it. Its great film-making though and it can be watched and enjoyed with this in mind.

But yeah, story-wise it feels thin sometimes. Its as if there isnt enough there for the length of the film. Like too little butter spread over too much bread as Bilbo Baggins says

Ill buy it in UHD at a sale price but certainly not day 1.

I was more turned off by the beginning than anything else. It made the rest of the movie harder to watch for me.

Streaming? Such as the internet that I didn't have all day?

Outages are one of the reasons why physical media will always be preferable to me.

The Kaleidsecape version is incredible and my go to UHD for how good restorations of older films can look. Yes ,100Gb file size there.

This is when Sony forces everyone’s hand and makes them buy the best screen and equipment possible. LoA is always the title I hold out for on each new format.

Sad still waiting on a BLU for Ryan’s Daughter which would look equally stunning in HD and personally WB should just shoot for Ryan’s Daughter 4K / Blu Combo
