Had the inside had actual plastic trays, it would have better protected the disks AND helped increase the rigidness of the case as a whole which would have meant less damage to the overall case. As it is the Disks are great, and the packaging design is cool, but the case itself is garbage.
thanks for the info might look around for alternate cases

Is it safe to assume they haven't changed the packaging since its release? If they did, I would order this in a heartbeat.

Same crappy packaging. The UK set (trilogy only, no remake included) comes in a standard blu-ray case (well, the thicker UK standard, anyway). It's also region free.

But what about any problematic standard resolution PAL content?

Bad packaging but justified by low Amazon price. Same with when the Forever Marilyn set, a DVD-sized box in cheap, easily bendable cardboard.

Yeah I love this series for the most part and really wanted the collection on Blu-ray, but that packaging is terrible. I even got a good deal on a brand new one off ebay, but when it arrived, sure enough they didn't pack it well and the thing was smushed. Thankfully I got my $$$ back.

This deserves a better package.

Worse than the Marilyn set, if you ask me. Even at $17.99 I am still not tempted to bite.

Well, I would say that, for the current $17.99 sale price, it may be worthy to buy the set and, if it arrives ruined, buy some 4-Disc plastic case and add some customized artwork.

I am not much for customization, but I must say I feel very tempted to do that...

WOW! Good thing I saw that post!

Now I might hold off on buying it. Funny how Fox charged $160 for it a few years ago, now it's down to $18!

The UK set has identical discs to the American discs. They are region-free and will play anywhere in the world. You do lose the remake in the UK set, but that can be bought separately in the US for a very cheap price.

Just saw the orignal on Blu last night, enjoyed the film itself a lot more then I did the first time with the excellent cinematography, strong acting performances with well written characters and stunning musical score being some of the highlights of the overall direction of a well told story, but did anyone feel the transfer whilst sometimes quite good, did look a bit smudgy with some uneven noise? I'm not talking about the inherent grain pattern because that looks naturally structured, its just sometimes (mainly during in door scenes) tended to look a bit messy so to speak. Maybe this has to do with the source negative because I did notice some scratches and roughness near the beginning too, but that soon became a non-issue.

I think for example The Godfather was a much much better looking transfer (though it did have the benefit of being restored.)

Haven't watched the other 2 Blus yet, but I do like Omen II.

This is $21.98 on Amazon now. I don't have this packaging as I bought the single Blu-ray's of Omen II and Omen III on eBay from a seller selling just the discs several years ago and a very nice member on here made me an Omen collection cover for a 4 disc case. I already had the original The Omen (1976) and the remake. So I just put the Blu-ray's of the first 3 and my Omen IV DVD in the 4 disc case and kept the remake in it's own case. Too bad FOX didn't release Omen IV: The Awakening on Blu as well.

Best Buy has it for $19.99. I've been alerting Amazon, hopefully they'll match!

Oh PLEASE don't judge the original by that horrific remake. That remake was just HORRIBLE. But the original will always remain a classic piece.

True and although the sequels diminish in quality there's still lots to enjoy, especially in Damien Omen II.

Omen 1 & 2 are the highlights in this series for me. I could do without part 3 though...didn't care for it.

I'm jumping on this set this time (missed the last sale). Right now all I've got is a homemade set made up of the first film on BD and DVDs of parts II & III but I'm missing the 4th one. I want a nice tidy set of BDs. Thanks for the heads up
