Germany Total Recall - German release better than US?

Just saw this on releaselists.com:

Total Recall (Region B?) (German release) (Studio Canal master - higher image quality than USA release)

Anyone that can verify this? And is it region free? Dubbed, subtitled? English audio with English subtitles would be nice.

German Amazon:

I can't say for sure if PQ is indeed better. As far as i know some problems of the US release stem from the original master and the cameras they used, but I'm no "techie", so i might be wrong. But you'll find all the details of the german release here, much more trustworthy than amazon:

It ist said to be region coded A, B so that it will play on US Players

Thanks for the info. The link you provided don't seem to work though...

But I'm gonna buy this... as it can't possibly be worse than the crappy US release.

@ demoni Sorry, about the link not working...but it will be in a few days. The site and their filmdatabase are in the midst of a major updat eand reconstruction due to german law that requires "adult" content (as Total Recall is considered in germany) to be separated from public content. For now the link is nit accessible.
Anyway, good luck with your Blu-ray, it is one of my favourite Arnold movies

Same as the UK release, so yes, better than the US release by miles.

The Australian release is the same, from Studio Canal.

I have not seen the USA version, but after seeing the UK version I had no complaints at all. It looked very sharp and is definitely a keeper for me. It is actually the best Arnie presentation i've seen on blu ray, T2 being the only other one though eek!!

Thanks for the info. And since Play has this in the 3 for 2 deal (and it's region free) there's really no doubt.
