Watched little bit of Pluto, just because Baywatch was on. This was just for nostalgia reasons, you understand!

Well, it looks like my fears are coming true in relation to the tv screen in our homes. (At least for Europe for now). EU have confirmed they won’t be reviewing the restrictions and the rule will stand as of March next year. Looks like I’m clinging onto the projector and for everything else it might have to be a laptop when my current TVs pack in.

Confirmation by Lee Stewart in another thread.

The EU just has it out for 8K TVs, is that right?

Your current TV is a 4K model the same as almost everyone else. You'll be just fine.

Also, high end and micro LED 4K (most high end). This feels like massive kick in the bollocks after the shitty few years we have had.

You have until March 2023 to stock up then, right? There are some great deals on TVs over the holidays and also as the Super Bowl approaches in February.

Maybe the sheeple will get their wool knickers in a knot over this and raise a stink in protest? Getting between couch potatoes and their TVs could invoke their massive wrath.

What about 6-7 years down the line?

The EU commission claim 8K TVs can still achieve the targets but how exactly?

We will still have couch potatoes in 6-7 years willing to defend their way of life.

Solar panels on the back of the TV!

I am happy to report some personal good news, but it's top secret.

[Show spoiler]I saw a surgeon today and he said that I do not need surgery at this time. I was worried that my Christmas was going to be spent in a hospital recuperating from another scalpel attack.

That’s genuinely fantastic news to hear.

It has improved my mood but sadly I have already give myself a bad headache so going to have lie down. Get back to you on this later.

Fantastic news that you can now enjoy Christmas and your movies too.

I hope you feel better; try not to worry so much.

I may watch this as my first Christmas movie of the season:

I think you need to watch a few more episodes of Baywatch you mentioned earlier. It could help to alleviate the pain mate.

:

Feeling better now, I really need to stop worrying so much about things that might not happen. I get a bit obsessive about HT and tech, especially HT.

Pamela Anderson can perk most people up!

Great news! I hope you have a great Christmas and enjoy the holidays. That exercise regimen of getting up and popping in a disc must be paying off!

The EU countries are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The UK is not part of the EU so they will be able to sell 8K TVs
