Just wanted to reach out to Walt regarding the tragic loss of his brother Bill Olsen a.k.a. Code Red's very own Banana Man.

I won't retype or repost everything I already left on the Code Red forum (out of fear that all my posts will be removed... again) but I will say this:

Thank you Bill for all the wonderfully obscure films you had restored and released on Blu-ray.

Sending much respect and support out to Walt and the entire Olsen family.

In light of the news yesterday, I finally watched Blind Date. It's not in the current Kino sale, but there's a good chance it'll be included in March sale. I enjoyed it quite a bit and Kirstie looks great in it.

Hell yeah, that looks great! I had forgotten the inner artwork....just pulled my copy off the shelf to admire it. I've got a handful of clear viva elite cases left, think I'm gonna follow your lead

Walt released a handful of these 'sex/teen comedies', truly gems of my Scorpion Releasing collection, just need a copy of Joysticks:

The inner art for The Beach Girls is fantastic, one of the crown jewels of my collection, no doubt.

I got lucky on Joysticks and bought it from a forum member a few years ago, that person was very nice and sold it to me retail price when it was OOP and going for much more... definitely another one of my favorite discs.

Still need My Tutor/Tomboy/Pom Pom Girls... a label has to have interest in re-releasing these, hopefully it happens sooner than not.

I think it's a decent price considering the 'rarity' of the Scorpion release, plus it's a great film. Though YMMV vs the price? Pretty sure I purchased it from Capstone for $25.99 last year..

Last word around the forum (within the last year or so) was that the Crown International catalogue was for sale. Not sure if it ever sold and to whom, but it may be some time before re-releases happen?

Thanks for the heads up, but I can just see myself buying it only to have a new release pop-up the following week. I'll still seriously consider it because I want the movie, but with shipping and money exchange, I'm looking at minimum $65.00-$70.00 (canadian) which makes it hard to pull the trigger... not doubting I would enjoy the movie, looks like a fun one for sure!! Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, the added cost of exchange rate/shipping is a hard pill to swallow....still cheaper than anything of fleabay.
I paid Dave/Darkforce $70.00 for My Tutor a year ago. I was ok with that price as I was outbid TWICE on fleabay (both sold for over $125) and the relative non-existence of the Scorpion disc these days.

Wait Pom Pom sold out already? Damn that was quick lol. I'll keep an eye out for My Tutor/Tomboy/Pom Pom Girls and PM you if I come across them.

$70.00 is indeed steep... but if it never gets a reprint will end up being quite a steal!!

I could never find Pom Pom Girls for a good price. I caved early in 2022 and picked up this Region B Italian edition for $20CDN on amazon. Not sure if this is a bootleg or not.




Since I was late to the party, I missed out on The Beach Girls and Joysticks. I shelled out a good chunk of change for Tomboy and My Tutor though.

The PQ isn't bad. It looks pretty good to me. Some minor speckling throughout, but it's nothing to get me too upset about. No idea how it compares to the Scorpion release. For all I know it may be the same scan with different compression.

The AQ on the other hand is definitely nothing to get excited about. Dolby Digital not DTS. It sounds brick-walled, but I didn't hear any distortion It certainly came screaming out of my center channel.

Regarding that Italian release of Pom Pom Girls - is it at least the uncut R rated version and not the PG one?

I see it listed on Amazon and from ebay sellers as "region a/b/c". Is that accurate, or is it region b locked?

nothing at all worth buying... I like RONIN, and I've ordered from them numerous times... but there's nothing left for them to offer. There selection remains more or less the same and it's been that way for a couple years.

Hoping they can acquire some more titles down the road.....

I have this edition, it is the uncut R version and it is region A/B/C.
