It’s peculiar that Nightmare Alley got a physical 4K and Steelbook, but Banshees hasn’t. Domestically, both films grossed roughly the same.

That is Searchlight’s usual strategy: only one movie per year gets a 4K disc.

Given Banshees did well at the Golden Globes and, to date, it's only available on a USA issued Blu-ray A/B/C if it does well at the BAFTA's maybe the UK will issue a domestic 4K version.

Except Banshees cost less than half of Nightmare Alley's budget, and I'm sure they spent a lot less on marketing for it too.

Maybe it's the target audience they're trying to cater to, or maybe Del Toro pushed for a 4K release, and McDonagh wasn't concerned with one?

Man...too bad this film hasn't gotten a 4K UHD. Such breathtaking cinematography even on the "regular" 1080p Blu-Ray release alone.

It really sucks that this and The Menu don't seem to be getting 4K releases. I know it's Disney and all but damn, what a shame because I know I'm not alone in having both movies on my best of 2022 year list.

Disney is just following what Searchlight did.

Had the pleasure of watching this last night on Netflix. It was almost distracting how many scenes I told myself, "Man... This would look really great on 4K disc...". Obviously the setting was beautiful and the music and sound mix was amazing. Surely a 4K will come eventually.
