Got my copy today. Had this on LD way back when. It's casual.

Got my copy yesterday and did some quick A/B comparisons between the 720P HD Broadcast rip and the Blu Ray. The Blu Ray DOES look better in motion given the much higher bit rate, but as others have already pointed out it is the same exact dated master.

The disc does not look horrible by any means, but it's also just a small step up from the HD Broadcast rip.

I essentially blind bought this, (I saw a few scenes from it years ago), and thought it was great. I really enjoyed the feel of it.

It's amusing without being too over-the-top or goofy. Even with bit roles from Moranis and Quaid. That being said, I do like my horror and comedy 'straight up.' I'm not a huge farce and/or spoof fan. Hope this helps potential buyers on the fence.

Very welcome addition to the collection.

Ok, so the Blu Ray.com review of the picture quality was a 2.0, which clearly is bad, all other review sites are saying it looks good, I am not sure whether to get this or not, also I have the BLU-RAY-R copy that came out a year or so back, so wondering if worth the upgrade... any help would be appreciated.

I mean, it's as good as it's ever going to look without a new master. It doesn't look good, though.

Haven't watched my BD yet, but found my old LD of this. Thought I sold it in the great LD purge. It's casual.

Does it have the same EVH score soundtrack and feature the same songs as the 720p broadcast?

Hi there, Guys !

First of all, I hope I won’t be breaking any rules of this discussion board by pasting the link to my video on YouTube, but in case I will, please don’t ban me immediately .

Actually, I’ve been an avid fan of this website for many years, presumably, since the moment I started collecting Blu-ray films by accident. Somehow, I’ve never got around to posting anything until now, though I’ve been following numerous threads diligently.

I’ve finally found enough free time to record a very brief review of the newly purchased film “The Wild Life.” It’s nothing special, but I treat it merely like a pet/passion project of mine since nowadays rarely do I have time and/or energy to record something.

The review was recorded at a video rental shop I used to work at for many years. Below please find the mentioned link to the clip; however, you can also find it by typing BlastandthePast The Wild Life in the YT search engine .

I’d really appreciate any contribution/criticism regarding that. I do know that it’s not perfect both in terms of technicalities and the delivery of lines, but at least I put my heart into it.

Should it prove slightly more popular than reaching the astonishing 10 views as of now, I would definitely be more motivated to post more reviews and also unboxing clips.

Anyhow, I don’t think there’s any better place to post my link than on the website which is a mecca for cinema/film fans such as myself .

Thanks in advance and may the (Blu) Force be with you, brethren!
Chris

Jeez this transfer sucks but I think that's all we'll get for some time.

Kino did confirm this via their Facebook page last year. Madonna, Billy Idol, Jimi Hendrix Foxy Lady are the ones I know aren't here. The end credits still have the original song list from the theatrical print. All the Eddie Van Halen music is in here plus its added for the songs that were removed.
Thanks for confirming. Given the missing songs and the transfer I'll just skip this one.

this master is clearly one that was made solely for broadcast and it SHOWS, despite the fact the audio is not the same

Sorry for bringing up an old thread and if it was already mentioned.

I’ve just compared my UK DVD of The Wild Life and the Kino Blu. From what I can see and hear, the UK DVD had the Madonna song in the strip club scene in tact and ‘Hey Joe’ by Hendrix was also in tact.

Anyone know what's up with this title, seems to be out of stock everywhere. They just need to do another run or did they put it OOP already for some reason?
