Hong Kong The Hong Kong/Chinese Films in the USA Thread

So with all of the Hong Kong/Chinese films coming out in the US, I figured I'd create a thread to keep track of what's coming out and what's going to be released in the future. I'll also include Taiwanese films as well. All talk is welcome here including international releases, but the first post will only include US releases. This will be only for Blu-ray and 4K releases, so no DVD.

Give me a few days and after that I'll ask for what I'm missing which I'm sure will be a lot. Any help would be appreciated.

Good to have a catch-all like this.

Also never realized until looking at this layout how hard Well Go and Media Blasters tried to make their Shaw BDs look like Dragon Dynasty

I know you're still adding titles, but just in case you miss these;

edit: and all are there.

Good thread idea. My only suggestion would be to use medium tags instead of the standard ones to make it a little easier to navigate, since there's so many titles. You can make this change easy by copy/pasting your post into notepad and use the replace (Edit > Replace) option to change BD to medium (choosing Replace All option)

Love the list and badly needed. Only change I might make would be to move some of the long oop titles to their own category since they are no longer easily obtained. Mostly referring to all the old dragon dynasty/miramax ones.

This list is already coming in handy -- I completely missed the Arrow Knockabout announcement. Got my preorder in for that

So this will make the size of the art smaller? I'll see if I can mess around with it.

Yeah, I thought about that, but decided to keep it somewhat uniform to the Japanese thread. Plus it's a pain to move things constantly once they go OOP. My main goal is to just put notice that these titles are out there, even if they are OOP.

Yeah, it'll make the thumbnails smaller. Medium is the size I use for the film noir thrad since it's a large and growing list. It's totally up to you though.

Here's an example

Regular

Medium:

There's also small, but I think medium is probably best. The Scream Factory OP uses small if you want a larger example of that.

That's pretty cool. I'll think about it, and the only thing stopping me outright is that I think a lot of people browse this site on their phones (sometimes myself) and it might be easier to see the titles if they were larger. On a desktop it does feel slightly overwhelming, so not sure.

Some form of organization would be nice too, I keep having to scan through the full thing to see if a title is there. Maybe alphabetical or by release year, with a separate section of boxed sets. You could also sort by studio, actor, or label.

Yeah, that would be nice, but don't have the time for that. I just wanted to put a list of all the titles together in one spot and to see what's coming out.

Watched the new release of Millionaire's Express from Arrow. I haven't watched this since I bought the Dragon Dynasty DVD, but this is a fun film, but it's a comedy first and foremost. Very little martial arts, and it's mostly regulated towards the end. I would say the biggest flaw is that there are too many characters and it's hard to relate to any when the film is jumping around a bit too often. Some characters disappear for long periods of time, but even with that, I was still entertained and enjoyed the film overall.
