Confused.
Bodies Bodies Bodies get a 4K UHD but this can't? |

With all of the buzz around this movie and the multiple Oscar nominations, this feels like a strong candidate for a 4K release directly from the A24 shop. It's unfortunate that there seems to be no real pattern or cadence to them, so hard to take a guess on timing...

I really enjoyed this movie -- but I am SICK and TIRED of virtue-signaling cinephiles who claim that they "cried the whole time" while watching this film.... I have cried at the movies, but not "the whole time." People need to get a grip!
This wasn't my favorite film from 2022, but Fraser turned in the best performance of the year. |

I found this one highly offensive to tell you the truth. It doesn't speak for me or any body else. It's so far removed from reality. They should have canned it and laughed Aronofsky out of the room. To think we can't go to the theater these days without being subjected to such ruthlessly bigoted drivel is beyond me. Of course people will eat it up anyway.

I bought the Blu-ray of Uncut Gems (from Lionsgate) and the 4K U.H.D. from Criterion. Lionsgate never released a 4K U.H.D. for Uncut Gems (or I would have bought IT instead of the Blu-ray). Lionsgate isn't very consistent.

I'm not trying to start a fight or be an *******. Please, I sincerely want to know what you thought was "ruthlessly bigoted" in the movie.... I thought that Aronofsky and company presented Charlie's condition (or situation) with honesty and respect. I would say the same about Black Swan and The Wrestler, and even Requiem for a Dream (which, admittedly, is highly stylized): Aronofsky treats his subjects -- a dancer, a wrestler, and four drug addicts -- with honesty and respect. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. He shows us the flaws of his characters -- whether they dance, wrestle, or teach from home with an obscured camera. I am NOT an Aronofsky cheerleader, by the way. I thought that Noah and mother! were dreadful and silly. I recently watched Patch Adams. Now THAT movie was highly offensive! Again, I am genuinely interested in your thoughts. |
