![]() ![]() Clue Blu-ray Since I hadn't seen any symbolic thread for it yet (outside of the Wish List)-- News bulletin just arrived from special courier: Paramount press-release tentatively pre-announces "Clue: the Movie" on their list of '12 catalog titles, for possible Aug. 7. (Most of the celebrating has been done on the blog page, but just for those who don't follow the news postings. ![]() Last edited by Scottie; 08-13-2017 at 09:39 PM. |

I'm slightly disappointed with Paramount's decision to release only one catalogue title per month. That's to modest(by modest i mean lazy and indifference)! They need to look up to WB and Universal;they releasing about 40 catalogue titles per year-that's acceptable.I mean, they are major players, with so many great classics in their vault. How long we should wait to see them all released on BD?With this tempo, about 20 years for sure :/
Latest announcements(Clue,Clueless,Barbarella and Hondo) are dissapointing as well.Don't get me wrong - i LOVE Clue.Hondo look good too;Barbarella is a campy classic, etc but i expected some essential releases for 100th anniversary like Sunset Blvd.,Marathon Man,Stalag 17,Shane (they own so many great westerns) Indiana Jones...only 4 places left until the end of year. Check some of the Paramount's classics: Sunset Blvd.,The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ,Stalag 17,El Dorado ,The Sons of Katie Elder ,Seconds Seven Men From Now,Sophie's Choice,Shane,Paper Moon,Don't Look Now,Hud,The Parallax View,The Tenant,Nashville,The Shootist,Sorcerer,Heaven Can Wait,Ordinary People,Atlantic City,The Duellists,Witness,Gallipoli,Marathon Man,Escape From Alcatraz ,Seven Days in May,The Addams Family 1&2,War of the Worlds,Rosemary's Baby,Gunfight at the O.K. Corral,The Odd Couple,Sabrina (54),A Place In the Sun,etc. Hoping their rule about one catalogue title per month will change in the future;also expressing the hope that Criterion will get the licence for many movies that i've mentioned.Cheers. I'd buy it! Now if only Columbia would give us Murder By Death, we'd have a great double feature!

Yes, Paramount is comparatively lazy and does up-dumps of their DVD catalog titles, but this is still relatively new for most studios: They may be just cashing in on Universal's sudden anniversary burst of classic-catalog--by taking some of the titles already mastered for Paramount's HD satellite and VOD, which don't need much advance notice or restoration--but after a couple long years of Warner's Disease, it's nice to see studios actually conquering their catalog fears again, and just in the last month or two. A slow step, but an important one for the entire industry to copy each other. |

I love this movie so much and will definitely purchase it on BD. I really hope they include the fourth alternate ending where
[Show spoiler] not to mention the FULL [Show spoiler] . Not to mention the numerous cut lines and shots in the trailer. If this is really being done as part of Paramount's 100th anniversary celebration, I hope they actually treat this film special to mark the occasion.

That's one I'll happily had to my collection!
And like madmojo mentioned, we also need "Murder By Death" and the sequel "The Cheap Detective" Do anyone saw the new Clue TV-Series? I'll try to find reviews, videos of that, but the modern and teenage storyline sounds bad... |

![]() (But then, as Hasbro has been playing fast, loose, and Battleship-movie with most of their licensees, I'm guessing it's not the Curry version, but whatever they say it is. One latest Hasbro Clue-incarnation has the player tracking "International spy Miss Scarlet" for the organization of C.L.U.E. - Criminal League for Underground Espionage......Oh, good lord. ![]() |

you guys have no idea how excited and happy I am to hear they are finally releasing Clue on blu ray. this is probably my all time favorite movie. i know the movie by heart, have seen it over 200 times and even have it autographed by Christopher Lloyd (Professor Plumb), Eileen Brennan (Mrs. Peacock) and Howard Hessman (Kingdom of heaven cop). I really hope they do this right and include the notorious 4th ending, all deleted scenes and maybe a commentary. Still, its exciting! woohoo!
