I'm thrilled that this is being released; it's one of my favourite movies of all time. Given what a disappointment it was at the Box Office and its chilly critical reception, I'm shocked that the studio is putting effort into a blu release. I'm not complaining, just fearful that it won't get much beautification-treatment. Hopefully they dig up some good extras or are able to add some commentaries.

Maybe it sold surprisingly well on dvd, hence the blu ray release.

Clue got a chilly critical reception?

... I hope all of those critics have since been hired by their local singing telegram companies.

I loved this movie as a kid. Tim Curry was awesome in it.

No one had ever done a game-adaptation movie before, comedy or otherwise, so trailer aside (and it wasn't getting much pre-buildup, so you probably didn't see the trailer), Paramount was promoting it as some sort of interactive game experience--Even to the point of handing out Clue slips with your tickets so you could "play along" with the alternate endings.

Naturally, even as early as Martin Mull sniffing his shoes for dog poo, some wondered whether they had gone into the right movie.

If you like Clue, you'll love Murder By Death. Peter Sellers and Alec Guinness alone are reasons to watch it.

I know it became a huge seller during the early days of VHS since it was one of the first movies to be discounted to $20. I'm not sure about DVD though.

Clue wasn't a sad ripoff (despite Alec Guinness's physical humor, it didn't have those Tim Curry "re-enactment" moments...), and the Neil Simon humor is a little quirkier, but you can see the source of evolution:

Seeing as I don't see a Barbarella Blu-Ray on my shelf right now, I'll take this with a grain of salt. That said, if it really is arriving, a Lynn commentary and any deleted scenes they can dig up (including that ending, which...I don't know why people are saying it's lost beyond the potentially misleading wording of the trivia).

Barbarella isn't due out until July 3...Why would you see it on your shelf already?

I love Clue and I kind of like Murder By Death.

I'd probably pick up a Murder By Death Blu-Ray from a bargain bin, but Clue? DAY ONE

[Show spoiler]Mrs. Peacock was a man.

Best closing line of any movie:

"Okay, Chief, take 'em away. I'm gonna go home and sleep with my wife. "

Oh, I had remembered the date being earlier, and I also remembered reading in the Barbarella thread that the title had disappeared from Amazon, although looking at the thread now, apparently just the release date.

I'm thrilled that this will be on BD. However (there's always something to cry about), every audio stream being Mono?!
