Halloween 4's and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers actor George P. Wilbur passed away yesterday, I didn't see anyone make a post yet, but a sad day for horror fans

They announced there's a sale this month? That would be great. I went crazy during their October sale. Hopefully they include more 4K releases.

It'll probably just be romantic comedies...and My Bloody Valentine.

it is normally a good mix. I think a few years back it was more heavily the slasher stuff. I looked back on my orders and both on Feb 8th was the start of the sale. So by early next week we hopefully will hear something.

Anyone else notice that Scream/Shout Factory prices have spiked recently at Best Buy? Titles like Bubba Ho-Tep, the Laika steelbooks, The Magnificent Seven, etc. were all $7-$10 cheaper when I preordered them. As long as I’ve been ordering SF titles from them, I’ve never noticed this trend before. I didn’t immediately preorder Wanted when it first went up for $27.99 and I’m damn sure not paying the current $38.99 price. People Under the Stairs and Midnight Run are each listed at $29.99 and $28.99 but aren’t live yet. I bet they both jump up $10 apiece within a couple weeks of going live.

I took advantage of the select discounted Shout titles Amazon currently has and finally got the Cat People 4K UHD.

I still have a couple packs of (stale) valentine hearts (with the Scream logo printed on the pack) that they gave with each February “Love is in the Scare” sale order years ago. Instead of the traditional “Love You” messages printed on the hearts, they have sayings like “be my victim,” “kiss me deadly,” “to die for,” etc. I doubt they drove any extra sales but still...kind of fun

BB has recently increased the prices on several of their movies. Price increases have been done in correlation.... due to their recent free shipping policy. They now give free shipping on all items, but they have increased prices to offset the costs of free shipping.

I missed out on those as I don't believe there was anything I was needing/wanting during that particular sale but I do have the recent t-shirt, 2 sets of coasters, both sets of magnets, and possibly some other goodies still floating around. I really like when they include small pieces of swag like that with sale orders, they make for fun incentives and for me is reason enough to spend a bit more to get them usually. I'd love posters, movie theater cups or popcorn cups, 3D video store style signs/displays, etc...

Not Scream, but Shout Factory related, If anyone missed the Anne Bancroft collection, but it was removed off their OOP page, and is back on their site

Curious to see the specs on Dr. Giggles. Curious to see if it will have a new remaster.

Not sure if they officially announced a sale, but they did have a "Love is in the Scare" sale last year. Feb 8-14th had 40% off some titles. Here's the link to that previous sale for example:

https://www.shoutfactory.com/sale/lo...dgkxTi3XubgqJI

Was kind of hoping they would start it today so I can order a couple of other titles along with whatever else on sale

I highly doubt it ever will considering the fact that Shout didn’t even see fit to give this film a normal, wide release. They only released it as a site-exclusive limited to 1,000 copies.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. No Shout site-exclusive releases have ever gone on to a 4K upgrade, AFAIK. Probably because they feel those titles won't sell well. That has been proven too. One example: I pre-ordered Blood for the Vampire (1958) which was released a year ago, limited to 1,500 units, and it is still available on their site today.

One problem is that some of these "exclusivses" have had releases in others with better transfers and more extras. Case in point is the above mentioned title, which was released by Nucleus Films in the UK, and is clearly the superior go-to version. (I cancelled my Shout pre-order.) Not everyone is region-free, but when dealing with these limited releases, there is still some competition.

If any Shout exclusive needed a 4K upgrade, it would be The Ninth Configuration with the correct spelling on the spine. That one sold out very quickly.

Blood for the Vampire also received a vastly superior UK release which probably cannibalized sales.

This is maybe a bit of a niche situation but... I placed an order back in December which included the Halloween III collector's edition along with the vinyl and print. As I'm in the UK it was sent to my forwarding address.

So fast forward to today, everything arrives but they have sent Halloween II and it's also missing the vinyl.

Given the order wasn't just screwed up, but also missing an item, and also through a forwarding address has anyone faced something similiar with Shout Factory? Or know how good their customer service is?

FWIW as this is my first order with Shout Factory and I've been using Stackry for 3+ years without a single issue, I'm not inclined to believe there is an issue on Stackry's end.

Something similar happened to me recently. It seems along with quality control and customer service, their shipping department has shit the bed too.

There's also some CBS/Paramount TV movies/mini-series that might be available, and possibly a handful of Republic pre-1950 horrors (would SF be interested?), but surely pre-2006 Miramax titles will be the main source of Paramount-owned titles going forward:

The Naked Jungle
Conquest of Space
I Married a Monster from Outer Space

Blood and Roses (probably still legal issues holding up a release)
The Vulture
The Penthouse
Targets

Unman, Wittering and Zigo (a release is in the works, though it may be for the UK or AUS; if not, Arrow is most likely)
The Possession of Joel Delaney
The Shadow of Chikara (probably no longer with Paramount)
Bloodline

Fighting Back (definitely coming, likely from Shout or Arrow)
The Keep (no chance; seems that Scream, like Kino, had it under licence but were unable to meet Mann's unreasonable demands for a restored release)
Testament

Rumpelstiltskin
Night of the Demons 3
A Simple Plan (I'd be very surprised if this wasn't released by someone this year)

The Gift (as above)
The Ring Two
The Loved Ones
Carriers

Apologies if I've missed anything.
Other possibles: Jade, Jennifer 8 (delayed?), Twisted, Suspect Zero, Abandon.
