I hope it doesn't end up like what Code Red had to go through. Buddy Cooper said he had usable elements but ended up having nothing but a tape master. He may have actually found elements usable for Blu-ray then. I look forward to hearing more about this, I am not going to get my hopes up just yet though because we have already had two announcements for this title and nothing happened.

I think the last slasher type film they released was Motel Hell, if I remember rightly, so yeah, this came as a surprise to me too.

White of the eye released last year may have been their last one.

Grindhouse Releasing's Cannibal Ferox blu ray says Region A in the specs, meaning it may be region locked.

If so, maybe a certain label over here has plans to release it....

Is it definatly going to be region locked. Not sure if any of their others were but then I only own three of their titles.
Again I'm sure this wouldn't get through the BBFC completely intact for obvious reasons but I don't want to start that debate all over again.

I agree, let's just leave the old AC cuts debate out of this thread for a while. Got very petty and mean, and also very off topic.

He was chained up as a diversion by a nefarious movie collector who wants to ensure we never get to see the full Wicker Man.
His haul also includes pristine quality copies of the missing bits from the Friday the 13th movies, over 50 lost Dr Who episodes and the mythical Jim'll Fix It Special with guests Gary Glitter and Rolf Harris .

As you can see ,it was a hard choice.

Even if the animal footage was passed I'm not sure the BBFC would be ready to pass the hanging by hooks scene.

I would have expected most enthusiastic Bluray collectors, specially of this type of film to be multi region by now so region locking can become as irrelevant as it always was for dvd

I've had a few "instances" talking to Buddy Cooper online (and once in person) and I found the guy to be quite the, umm, "talker", so I really don't believe anything he says...be it good OR bad news about The Mutilator.

I think he does have a usable copy of the film, but is holding out for big money. That's just my own feeling about it.

It's my absolute favourite slasher and do hope it sees the light of day in glorious blu.

Does he think some deep-pocketed Hollywood Studio is going to call him one day and say , "Hey, I'll pay you $25 million for the rights to your little horror film"? He should understand, of all people, being an independent filmmaker (and a one-hit wonder), that that's never likely going to happen and that the only calls he's going to get are from small two-man operations who don't have a lot of money. He should take whatever Arrow (if they are indeed after the film) can offer as they not only probably have a little more capital to work with compared to a smaller label, but can produce a high-quality release that will make everybody happy and do it fairly quickly.

We emailed Buddy in June last year when our Slasher Classics line was starting and we were told he might have elements that we could use for a new HD BluRay. He told us to email him after the summer as he runs a guest house. Unfortunately, all of our contact after this went unresponded to until last week when he confirmed he was in intending to release this with another UK label.

We are disappointed - not at the fact The Mutilator looks likely to have a good British release from an obviously worthy company - but rather that someone would ignore our correspondence out of hand.

I'm guessing he had his hands full at the guest house during the traditional Fall Break period, when folks take a breather from their stressful summer vacations in order to get drunk in the basements of beachfront condos.

Or maybe the 'summer' just doesn't end until March 2015...

Warner don't licence out their films unfortunately (apart from a few exceptions). I'm guessing that's why American Ninja 5, which is owned by Warner, isn't being released by 88 (well that and it's terrible).
