I'll definitely check out Electric Chair, but Nail Gun Massacre - sorry, txfrightmare! - is as bad as moviemaking gets. It has its fans though, so hopefully these first titles will do well enough to encourage future release. Glad to see Code Red moving into Blu-rays, with Scorpion Releasing, Second Sight and Kino/Redemption stepping things up, 2013 could really be a banner year for genre stuff.

Yes and probably also from the_Exterminator at Amazon too. Selling direct is probably the reason why Code Red is able to release on blu-ray as the cost are prohibitive for a very small company.

I'm pretty sure that has more to do with the fact that Code Red's rabid c ore "fans" are quite possibly the most whiny, entitled bunch of douche nozzles on the planet. The Nightmare in A Damaged Brain fiasco? Oh my god. It's as though the entirety of the 4chan community happened to collectively become CR's biggest supporters, or something. I'd get a bit, er, grumpy too if the most vocal chunk of my customer base by an order of magnitude was an army of surly, ungrateful little twits with chips on their shoulders.

I know he gets kind of a bad rep, but all of the dealings I've had with him whether via email or Twitter have been cool. 100,000 units for an obscure horror title from the 80's that most people don't care about? I think that it would be ok lol.

Screen Archives only does 3000 and they have only sold out like 4 titles? If codered does do a limited run I would think that 50,000 would be more than enough to please everyone and he would have like 49,000 left over

No worries, NoirFan! But, if you are a fan of movies that are "so bad they're good" then NGM is definitely up there with Troll 2 and should be on your want list.

We filmed some really great new special features for Nail Gun Massacre. Not sure if Code Red wants me to let the cat of the bag on those yet though.

Also, the HD print comes from the last remaining 16mm print. Amazingly, it's in pristine condition. So, it will look great in HD. A few folks were disappointed that the DVD version was matted and differed from the original Magnum print they had grown fond of over the years. Specifically, the killer's legs popping up at the end! Code Red has rectified this by including two new prints of BOTH versions!

I want to know how Nightmare sold 100,000 copies in a year's time? I was amazed by that. I think its a great release but that is quite a bit of copies for an obscure title(or maybe it is not as obscure as I think it is).

Then I can't believe Fritz Lang "The Big Heat" is still not sold out over at TT with only 3,000 copies pressed...so what do I know

Nightmare didn't sell 100,000 copies. Probably more like 1,000.

Yeah, that whole banner was a complete joke from Bill. He put that on there because for years people kept telling him how much this title was going to sell and it apparently wasn't the big seller he thought it would be. I feel like it must have done decent business for Code Red though regardless.
