These are the first horror BDs from them in what will be 18 months, so I wouldn't start compiling too many wish lists yet.

House on Straw Hill looks like it might be a sleazy good time, and Udo Kier is always an interesting actor.

Edit: But I read on IMDb that Kier is dubbed in this. Shame.

Sold. Seven Corpses is not generally well thought of but I find it fun in a Scooby Doo kind of way and Straw Hill has always been censored in Britain. Linda Hayden disowned it, saying the final release bore no resemblance to the film she made

me too. I will buy anything and everything horror anthology released on blu ray, but all we have so far from the classic era is creepshow, tales that witness madness and tales from the crypt. Monster Club is coming from Scorpion though and that's one of the rarer ones!!! Hells yeah

Definitely not, boutique label discs almost never drop below $10.99 or so.

Inglorious Bastards has been this price at best Buy for a while now. They even stock it in store for that price.

It's also has lossy audio while using a rather an old master. If you're able to play Region B titles then the DE disc is the way to go.

Y'all need to give The Manson Family some love and attention, I'm tellin' ya. Roger Ebert even gave it a hesitant 3-star review! Looking forward to Severin's Blu-ray (hoping they do well on the encoding) and the included new short film from the director, Gator Green, both of which will be playing near me in a couple weeks so I should probably go see 'em.

If you pre-order House on Straw Hill directly from Severin here, you will receive a limited-edition (250 copies) replica of the original Expose VHS version. The release will also include a bonus DVD with the 'Ban the Sadist Videos' documentary, which is not limited edition.

It appears that Severin will be the company that releases Patrick. On their Facebook page, they shared a link to:
Quote:
Interview with Mark 'Not Quite Hollywood' Hartley on his remake of PATRICK wherein the original Richard Franklin classic is also discussed... which will be hitting Blu sometime early next year.
And then below, in reference to someone asking for the Italian rip-off Patrick Still Lives, they said
Quote:
Couple of problems with PSL in that there is an injunction on the film from the producer of the original Tony Ginnane, so we'd have to get his permission as well as the owners. The owners also happen to have a very unrealistic idea of what their movies are worth in today's market. We half-jokingly discussed with Tony the notion of putting it on the PATRICK disc as an easter egg. He has as much right to release it in the US as they do!
Why would they be talking to Franklin and/or making that joke about the Easter Egg if they themselves were not releasing the film? I was extremely impressed by Patrick when I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, so this will be a must-buy for me. I guess I'll skip next month's Australian release then. Even the remake might be decent, as Hartley seems to have a solid respect for Ozploitation and a stylish approach to directing.
