I'm looking forward to hearing director Danny Steinmann's commentary for Part 5. I hear its pretty out there because of his bluntness towards certain scenes in the film.

He has a good sense of humor, for the most part he acts like he has no idea what they're watching. He goes off about one actor though, and I couldn't tell if he was still in joke mode. Might be frustrating if you want actual information.

Um... It's a repackaging of the previous Blu-ray discs, each film had a lot more supplement than the Friday the 13th titles.

And again, WB is trying to optimize their profits with this set, remember this is part of a package deal where they need to turn all of the Paramount stuff around by the end of 2015, and then they lose the US distribution rights.

Absolutely the best "non-kill" part of the entire series.

So in 2015 we could see a decent set released rather than some half cocked attempt?

Not likely.

Once the rights revert to Paramount... Paramount will have 1-8 back, and WB will still have 9, X, Freddy vs, and the reboot/remake.

This is likely to be the only "complete" box set ever released because of the dual ownership.

Not even singular releases?

Eh, maybe you'll get lucky and Paramount will spring for a 3D Blu-ray disc for Friday the 13th Part III, but honestly, this will probably be the last physical disc releases for this series. (Not including the individual disc releases of Pt 4; Pt 5/6; Pt 7/8 and JGTH/Jason X, which will be the same discs from this set.)

If we ever get a 4K disc format, I don't see Paramount (Or WB for that matter) re-releasing the films.

Who knows about single releases. I seriously doubt a box set... but single releases would be up to Paramount for 1-8 and WB for the others after 2015.

The thing to keep in mind, though... Paramount only released 1-3 themselves... and happily let WB have the 3-year window for 1-8 distribution... which kinda says Paramount didn't have any plans to release 4-8 during this time.

September must be your month, you said the same thing in the Halloween thread.

I'll probably wait for this to drop before I get it. I like that everything is in one set finally, but of course I'm upset about Jason Goes To Hell. I'll probably pick that one up on dvd to get the unrated version. Still wish I wouldn't have to do that.

Does anybody else worry that Best Buy or Target wont have this in store on release day? I really want to watch these on Friday the 13th. I thought in store would be better then ordering online but now I don't know if stores will sell it.

I don't think they are going to have it in store. Target does not even have it in there ad for that week. I hope it is in Best Buys ad because I have mine pre ordered through Moviestop and they beat out the best price advertised. I have 89.00 worth of credit on it and I really don't want to have to pay anything more than that so I was hoping best buy would have a sale price around that maybe even cheaper.
