You missed out on sneaking into the theater before you were legal age to see them, that plays a huge part in my love for the series. They aren't the best films in retrospect, but they all have a special place in my life. 4 and 5 are pure gold for fans of gore and boobs like myself!

Here's how I did it. I bought JGTH on DVD from Amazon for $5 (which contains both cuts). I then used the disc to digital service from VUDU which only cost $2 to upgrade to HDX. The trick is to place the HD version in your cart on their website, then do the disc to digital portion.

I watched pretty much all of these by the time I was 13 or 14, and I LOVED them (well, maybe not all of them lol). And I'm 20 now. They're so much fun.

I love the first six and JGTH (and I don't mind sitting through the rest, except maybe FvJ and JX), and I'm quite upset that the set contains only the rated version of JGTH. Come on, the DVD had both cuts. How come they chose not to include both on the Blu-ray? Kind of disrespectful to the fans.

It does mean something to me...those 30 and up will probably have more of a remembrance for the series tying into the nostalgic factor.

It may have nothing to do with it now, since the movies are all released at this point, but being a teenager at the time of release for most of these was amaze balls.

I remember reenacting death scenes with my friends while lining up on the playground to enter our 6th grade building. At that time, Part IV was already on video, and the Crispin Glover death scene was most memorable because of its unintentional hilarity!

Finished my set and here's my rankings.

Friday the 13th – 7/10
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives – 7/10
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood – 6/10
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter – 6/10
Friday the 13th Part 2 – 6/10
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning – 6/10
Jason X – 5.5/10
Freddy vs. Jason – 5.5/10
Friday the 13th Part III – 5.5/10
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan – 4.5/10
Friday the 13th (2009) – 4/10
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday – 3.5/10

The remake is not as bad as the Nightmare on Elm Street remake but it's pretty close. Going to start Crystal Lake Memories next week.

Does this work for all movies?

It took a while but I finally got my replacement set from WB. The tin was dinted and the book was bent but all the disc including the dvd were perfect! So I am a happy camper now!

Can someone clear up this question for me.
I don't think i can afford to buy this set at the moment, or if i want to. I might wait until a better set happens (if ever) but i was looking to buy part one on Blu ray.

I took a look at this copy which came out 2009 and runs at 95mins
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Frida...-Blu-ray/2577/

And this which looks identical (also claims to be uncut) but says it runs at 93mins which came out in 2013
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Frida...Blu-ray/61518/

Is this a typo? I can't imagine 2 minutes just vanished.

I would love to upgrade my DVDs of these movies but it seems from reading this thread that it is not always a better option when it comes to cuts.

The only film that is different from previously released versions is JGTH, which is the rated and not unrated cut. This was an issue for many because from it's very first VHS release, the Uncut version was available, and the missing footage is rather noticeable and the majority of folks saw the Uncut version to begin with when they first saw the film.

The F13th in the set is identical to the one released singly previously.

Other than that, the complaints about "not being uncut" versions is completely irrational, as that footage simply doesn't exist for other films aside from grainy, several-generation-old VHS workprints (some of which is included in bonus features). Unless they re-create it with CGI, that footage is gone - and that would not only be impractical but also just idiotic, even if they were willing to spend the money.

How do you JUST add a movie to your cart on VUDU??!! There's not really a cart section on the site.

You have to go to the disc to digital section of Vudu's site.
