They did not. Viacom and CBS spilt into two separate companies in 2005. While it's possible they may come back together in the near future, at the time of the TNG blu-rays they were wholly separate companies (with some common board members, but that's it).

Had some credit with Diabolik and only paid $10 out of pocket. Looking forward to finally owning these films on Blu-ray.

Yes, The body hopping was something different for the series but cool, now Jason coming back at the end already in his clothes and mask was a big wtf moment.

Maybe of the original 8 (with the exception of Part 8), but it's solid compared to anything after the 8th one.

Ordered the new parts 1-8 collection and the german double feature of Jason Goes to Hell & Jason X. No need for FvJ as it is just a spin-off (have it on DVD...) and I already own the remake on blu-ray.

For the price though it isn't bad at all.
I thought the tin set was beautiful. I happily display it on my shelf with all the other horror box sets. Plus the book style case with the artwork for each movie is a nice touch. Couldn't be happier.

I remember liking it more than most entries, but I think that was just cause blowing through the previous ones quickly got so monotonous. It was radically different and I liked seeing X.

I preordered this cheap set so I'll see if I like them more on pass #3.

I'm with you here. I actually took the discs out of the book and put them in a ten-disc Amaray case, complete with custom artwork supplied by a very nice man on this very board. It protects the discs a lot better and they are more easily accessed. But I have the tin case and the ten-disc case right next to each other on the shelf. Still, I admittedly would prefer each disc in its own case like the Halloween set, but I'm also not going to complain. Warner Bros. at least made it look presentable, like we were getting our money's worth. That's really about all you can ask for anymore.

I love my tin set, for sure. That said, I would buy standalone releases of the first 8 films in a heartbeat, if a studio like Scream could get them. Each with their original art would be amazing. Not holding my breath or anything, just something I like to think about.

Got a shipping notice from Best Buy but I cancelled several weeks ago when Amazon had initially lowered their price. The order said 'cancellation pending' this whole time but now it just says 'shipped' and the full price is still quoted in the order (it actually lists the order twice ). Will check the credit card tonight but is this generally what it looks like when Best Buy ships a cancelled item that you end up not having to pay for?

Oh man if Scream Factory put out a box set, I'd probably drop $300. No joke.

I got into this issue with Best Buy recently. Even though they say you can cancel pre-orders, it is almost impossible now. Unless you cancel an order immediately after placing it, it will just say "cancellation pending". After many phone calls Best Buy said that at a certain point they secure the stock for release date and it can no longer be cancelled. Very frustrating.

I have also received pre-order items from Best Buy even when I have received a cancellation confirmation.

It's rather pretty, yes, although it's a fingerprint magnet and mine's got a gigantic dent in it.

Still glad I own it, though. It helps that (with the exception of the shitty remake) I like the post-Paramount releases, so I'm happy I've got everything together.

It shouldn't cost significantly more than their big Halloween set.

That happened to me last summer with BB. I tried cancelling 2 orders, it was more then a month in advance & it wouldn't let me. The phone reps couldn't cancel it either from their end. I had to let the orders ship & then return them to the store.

Re-watching the remake now. How does Amanda Righetti stay alive for so long while being held captive? What does she eat/drink? How did she not use the bathroom once?
