Or on DVD, since they abandoned it after Vol. 3. Now I WANT the whole damn thing, and on Blu.

They included all the Fleischer cartoons though--the ones from Famous Studios have much more of a corny "kiddie" feel along the lines of other Famous Studios products like Baby Huey, I think there are a lot fewer animation fans excited about seeing those on DVD or blu.

Mr. Bug is still copyrighted to Paramount.

They are planning to release a (1st) volume of the long-awaited Famous Studios Popeye shorts on both formats for next year to tie-in with the Sony CGI film.

Certainly looks like a release with some potential. Hopefully their elements aren't in too bad of shape.

Ah, I see. I'm no expert on the Fleischer cartoons at all, and the copyright situation is such a mess it's hard to tell who owns what or what's in the public domain.

So will we ever get Mr.Bug/Hoppity/Bugville on BD? Perhaps I shouldn't get my hopes up...

A booklet with various sections written by various folks
A gallery of storyboards and original art, publicity photos, posters and various books and toys

The soundtrack record
A pencil test from the film (yesterday someone told me they had another test too)
Commentaries
8 other Fleischer shorts (and it looks like at least one Color Classic from 35mm now). Maybe one of the Sneak Snoop and Snitches too, licensed...

Amazon just emailed that my copy of Thunderbean's GULLIVER has shipped and should arrive in one to three weeks! Can't wait to watch all the Fleischer shorts, and it will be fun to see the feature again looking the way it should.

The Amazon emails saying the set has shipped are most likely incorrect. All of the official word on this set (e.g. the Cartoon Research post) points to this being simply a pre-order, with the set still being a work in progress that will be sent once it's finished. Read the Editor's Note by Jerry Beck at the bottom of the C.R. post, which says "The discs will be sent when the project is finished (we’re hoping before the end of the year)."

I was a little unsure of how they were handling the Amazon pre-orders. They've set it up as a normal Amazon Marketplace order, which is going to confuse people thinking the item is about to be released. They better send a detailed email out to everyone explaining the situation when you order through Amazon.

This is a one week 'Pre-release' offer for Thunderbean's BluRay Gulliver's Travels and Fleischer Cartoon set, featuring eight classic Fleischer cartoons as well as an HD 35mm restoration of Fleischer's Gulliver's Travels. This pre-release is only available for about a week, and includes a special bonus- an original 35mm Technicolor film strip from Gulliver's Travels, from a good frames of a water damaged print of the film that was acquired while looking for the best footage for the set. The purchase of this pre-release will help to fund the completion of the set, likely sometime in November. The Technicolor film strip will be sent this next week. Thanks so much for the support of the animation community in the production of these collections of classic animation!
I'm assuming that's what the shipping notices are for...

I'd sure like to see this, and I'd like to support the project, but I don't know that I need to own this -- especially when there's so much stuff out there that I actually do want.

I love the Color Classics! There's a lot of exceptional Fleischer shorts that I would love to see from 35mm.

Too bad Disney wouldn't fund a "here was our competitors" collection. Of course, they have backers of Ghibli-- where's the Fleischer love among those dudes?

I normally wouldn't spend this much on a Blu-ray like this, but I figured that since the purchase will go toward funding the project, it's worth it. Just placed my pre-order.

Plus, it looks to be a pretty nice set.

To blu-ray.com:

Would you please put "Thunderbean" in the "Studio" list at the "Add or Edit DVD/Add or Edit Blu-ray Movie" sections?

OMG! I just saw this thread!!
Does that mean that we'll have a true restoration of Gulliver's travels in comparison with the hideous Bluray which already exists??

edit: Oh, it is!! now i saw the links to the screenshot comparisons!! WOOOOOW!!!
When is this being released??
