Wake up and Kill and Investigations of a Citizen Above Suspicion should be up there too.

EDIT: nevermind they're from the 60s.

Added both and "Flash Solo" (Der Vernichter) which is coming out in Germany end of the month.

The two Fernando Di Leo box sets and Gang War of Milan are the titles more to do with the Mafioso type drama than police stories right? I'm more interested in these types of films than police dramas and I'm looking for more titles to sink my teeth into. Thanks for this thread btw.

The first di Leo boxed set is exactly what you're looking for in that respect. The second and Gang War are more focused on lower organized crime.

Vol 2 is a bit more diverse. SHOOT FIRST .. is a cop drama (Dirty cop runs errands for the mafia). KIDNAP SYNDICATE .. is well about a kidnapping, story is great though ... 2 kids get captured, one form a wealthy family and one from a working class. Harsh at times. NAKED VIOLENCE is more a youth-violence drama.

Vol 1 are pure gangster flicks with minimal police involvement.

Rabid Dogs & Hitch-Hike. Unless we are talking strictly gangsters and cops here.

Gonna add them asap. It's more like a general term. Should I add night train murderers too ?

I think it's a good idea, because if not, between this and the Giallo on blu-ray thread, some films could get lost

That's a Last House on the Left rip, though I guess Hitch-Hike and Rabid Dogs are already veering into that territory and it's only another small tick on the Last House on the Left path to get to Night Train Murders. It is always just classified as a horror film that I've seen, though, while the other two usually aren't.

Speaking of things falling through the tracks, "What Have They Done To Your Daughters" is coming out in Germany soon. That one seems to intentionally be a hybrid of police movie and giallo. It probably is closer to the former since the Italian title highlights that aspect.

Yep, it's definitely more of a police procedural. I can't wait to experience the film, and the excellent soundtrack in HD.

There will be some newly unearthed XXX out-takes among the extras

Yap this will be added too. Also the US version of Wake up and kill. Hopefully this thread will see some Maurizio Merli in the future.

Yeah, I have the UK DVD of it and liked it quite a bit and definitely will be rebuying the blu-ray. It is mainly a police procedural, but obviously has a bunch of giallo-ish scenes where a masked person in leather tries to hack people up with a cleaver! I love those kinds of hybrids. It belongs in this thread for sure (if he's doing pre-release stuff).

I have recurrent dreams of The Big Racket being released on Blu by Blue Underground.

I wish they would come true.

Some releases and a coming soon section added.

What really needs to happen on Blu are the Violent Professionals:

Fernando Di Leo films are a blast to watch and the Raro boxsets are a good value if you get them on the cheap, but just be aware the quality issues that plague them and review the screenshots here before deciding to purchase. The films are either extremely noisy Italian HD scans or DVD upscales depending on the flick, none of the transfers are the quality of Arrow's release of Caliber 9.
