Not sure if this every made the rounds, but these films are coming. Violent Cop is one of the best Cop/Yakuza Japanese films of all time. Boiling Point is worth is if only for Kitano's psycho yakuza role.

There is a German Blu of Sonatine, but I think it has no English subs

But yeah, it's such a long wait for these two to come out from Film Movement.

The first I'm hearing about these releases. They are now on my radar. I'm always for more Asian films on Blu-ray. Thanks for posting Duke.

I actually do have an update. I contacted Film Movement and they said that Violent Cop comes out on 10/11/16. I'm not sure about Boiling Point as well, but I would figure they would come out at the same time.

I haven't seen Violent Cop since the late 90's, but I remember it being awesome - Looking forward to revisiting it.

Just confirmed with the company that Boiling Point is also going to be released on 10/11/16 as well. Great news!

I literally just found out from Facebook yesterday that these were coming out, and a two month wait isn't so bad.

Violent Cop is one of my all time favorite Japanese films. Kitano came out running in his directorial debut.

I saw these when they were announced last year, but it's nice to have a dedicated thread for them – they seem to have gone under a lot of peoples radars... Great to hear the October release date!

2016 is a fantastic year for Takeshi Kitano on blu-ray:

Personally Kikujiro is my favourite, but I like Hanabi, Boiling Point, and Violent Cop all enough to buy.
Hopefully my favourite of all, Sonatine, will be announced from somewhere too!

Germany released a Sonatine blu ray in March this year, but no English subtitles.
