We found a 16mm print of ABBY (1974) in our archive, 1 of 2 that we are aware of in the world. Now scanning in 2K.

For Blu-ray? Wouldn't Warner have something to say about that? Or have those issues died down now?

They are probably scanning it for archival purposes and theatre screenings.

Very eagerly anticipating this line since the news of The Zodiac Killer dropped! It's definitely a WEIRD one!

I have a huge stack of Something Weird VHS tapes I don't play any more. I want blu-rays. Has anything been released yet? I have That's Sexploitation, but most of that is standard definition.

Teaserama. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

Sounds cool. I'm surprised I've never heard of it.

They mention Effects being their second Blu-ray release after The Zodiac Killer. Does this mean that there is a release date for The Zodiac Killer? It may be a lesser effort, but I'm looking forward to it as it will be the first release in this line.

I don't believe there's been any update since their initial October press release stated 'AGFA will begin distributing their new transfers theatrically and on home video in the summer of 2017.'

Stellar news! It's one of the odd slashers I haven't seen and I can't wait to own it! The Zodiac Killer is terribly terrible, but I'll buy it too (I love 'so bad it's good' movies).

ZODIAC KILLER is on TCM On Demand thru the 14th courtesy the new AFGA / SW transfer.

I actually had a quite a good time watching this....very dark and twisted with some genuinely amusing moments.

I saw it for the first time recently and liked it as well, not sure where all the negativity comes from (unless you're comparing it to Zodiac, obviously!)

A new 4K transfer of this snuff-fueled frightmare starring Tom Savini and Joe Pilato!

Cobbled together with loose change by George Romero’s friends, EFFECTS is a mesmerizing D.I.Y. frightmare that no one talks about, but everyone should. A group of coked-up filmmakers — including Tom “DAWN OF THE DEAD” Savini, Joe “DAY OF THE DEAD” Pilato, and John “TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE” Harrison — gather in Pittsburgh to make a slasher. As filming begins and “accidents” happen, it’s clear that something isn’t right. And no one can be trusted. Landing somewhere between SNUFF and a student film by John Carpenter, EFFECTS is a meta-enhanced takedown on the philosophy of horror that doubles as a sleazy and terrifying movie on its own.

Bonus Materials

AFTER EFFECTS documentary with optional commentary track
UBU short film
BEASTIE short film
Archival commentary track with John Harrison, Dusty Nelson, and Pasquale Buba
Liner notes by Joseph A. Ziemba of AGFA and Bleeding Skull!
New 4K scan from the only 35mm theatrical print in existence

It'd be awesome if they could release that Abby restoration on disc format. I don't know how feasable that really is though...but it'd be awesome!
