A new 4K transfer of the only movie in history made explicitly to catch a serial killer.
Directed by Tom Hanson, who had previously owned a chain of Pizza Man restaurants, The Zodiac Killer was made to capture the real-life Zodiac Killer. That plan didn’t work. Instead, we got the most outrageous and compelling “tabloid horror” vortex in the history of planet Earth. And beyond. During theatrical screenings, Hanson constructed in-theater “traps” to lure the killer from hiding. These included the use of an ice cream freezer filled with rent-a-cops and a raffle with a motorcycle as a prize. You won’t get insight like this by watching a David Fincher movie. But you will get it while watching The Zodiac Killer.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. The dialog to this film is so amazing. I like the logo and pink color of the new cover, but other than that, I think the artwork on the previous SWV DVD was better.
Am I the only one who'd like to see Blu-Ray versions of the Something Weird discs of "Goliath And The Dragon" and "Hercules Against The Moon Men"? They had some nice looking material for those, and if they haven't gone totally vinegar since then, they'd make for some nice scans.

We’re grateful to Henenlotter for his incredible movies, and also for educating the planet on the importance of “experiences” like THE GODMONSTER OF INDIAN FLATS and SATANIS: THE DEVIL’S MASS.
Today, the AGFA advisory board consists of Alamo Drafthouse founders Karrie and Tim League, filmmakers Paul Thomas Anderson, Anna Biller, and Nicolas Winding Refn, musician RZA, exploitation film savior Lisa Petrucci, and genre superheroes Zack Carlson and Lars Nilsen. We’re proud to welcome Henenlotter to the fold.
“AGFA is exactly what we all need to keep this world safe for exploitation films,” said Henenlotter.
Last year, AGFA partnered with Lisa Petrucci and Something Weird to begin redistributing their titles theatrically and on home video, starting with THE ZODIAC KILLER. Frank Henenlotter will play an important role in this partnership by contributing advice, commentary tracks, and liner notes to the cause. In addition, AGFA and Something Weird will resurrect the “Sexy Shockers” line in 2019 for a special Blu-ray set.

Yes! Bring on more Ed Wood stuff. Between this and Orgy of the Dead from Vin Syn, it's a good Q4 for Wood on Blu-ray. Maybe "One Million AC/DC" will be in their sights down the road.
I want Wood's TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE (1970), one of the very few Wood films to have never received a home video release (other than a reel of silent outtakes that SWV once released).

To celebrate the release, AGFA and Something Weird will present a world premiere screening of their new transfer of BAT P U S S Y at Fantastic Fest on September 23, with Something Weird’s Lisa Petrucci in person.
