Yes, it is. I have the JP and Criterion versions of the original so I don't mind having two versions of the remake. Anything related to Romero should never be questioned.

Am I the only one that doesn't find this announcement exciting? If it were a Scream Factory Collector's Edition, yes, but a studio MOD release? Meh. That guy who got banned turned out to be right. He said NOTLD '90 wasn't coming from Shout. He also said Deadly Friend and Elm Street weren't coming either

Considering Shout/Scream's track record I'd rather have something directly from Sony.

Since I already have the Umbrella release of this, I will wait for the reviews to see if it is enough of a upgrade to be worthwhile.

MOD? If you're referring to it being a BD-R, I don't think there's any indication of that yet.

Wish this and the unrated Evil Dead were UHDs since I already own both through imports.

If this is just the old master Umbrella used or the new master as it appears on the TT disc, then I'll have to pass. If it's what TT used except with corrected framing and color then I'll be all over it.

Same. No UHD, no double-dip. Christine just made it to the format, so I don't see a reason why Sony can't make our dreams come true. In regards to the Evil Dead (2013): Unrated Cut, I feel the same way, as Evil Dead 1 & 2 are both making it to 4K, next month. I'm tired of double-dipping on standard BDs, when 4K is now a possibility.

I've been told that the gore that was cut is out there and available. I know it's probably a pipe dream, but it'd be awesome if it was included!

I have 2 releases of this, TT, and Umbrella, but I definitely want a Sony release of this. Wish this would've came first.

I don't have either release of this so I'm excited! Original poster art too. If the transfer is good I'm all set.

I just got the Umbrella release, so I'm not quite as jazzed about this as I might've been 6 months ago. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up, though.

It's been available in VHS quality for years, if that's what you're talking about. I haven't heard anything about the cut footage still existing in higher quality than that.

If they ditched the blue tint this could look amazing but since that is the master they gave Twilight I don't have a ton of hope. Going back and changing it now seems like more work than they are prepared to do. Is there a way to ask them? Facebook or twitter or....magic spell?

They're more likely to release the same transfer Umbrella used than color correct the newer scan. But odds are we'll just end up with another Blue-ray.

Considering Shout's track record and recent pricing, I prefer Sony.
I already have the Umbrella + TT releases, but I am very curious about this release.

I can't imagine SONY using the same exact Umbrella transfer because that Umbrella edition looks like crap in motion. It just looks awful like there is some odd gauzy issue happening with the image quality.

I still own the Twilight Time and even though it has the color change it looks way better than the Umbrella. I imported the Umbrella months back and got rid of it.

There was so much blow back to Sony over the transfer they were for sure aware esp Grover Crisp so I'd bet they knew to correct the issue before they released their own edition. A color correction wouldn't be that hard for SONY

I don't own any edition of this film yet, so will probably get this.

This is one of my favorite movies. I have the Umbrella limited edition, but I'll definitely get this if the PQ is improved.
