At least both trimmed scenes are on the disc in a folder.

Both involve unique feeding methods employed by the titular bloodsucker.
This was some extra creativity & a nice wrinkle in 70's vampire kill scenarios and
it sucks both got prunned for a PG and wider drive in play.

1st scene would integrate nicely back into the film ( aside form the drop in resolution ).
During the 2nd cut scene the German's dubbed music over the sequence,
that is not present in the original, where there is no music just outdoor night sound effects. it's quiet.
As a result the 2nd scene does not cut in well unless you went & re dub it's audio to remove the music.

This would also put the film back into R territory,
and possibly require a re submission to the MPAA?

This was an excuse used when the extra scenes were left out of CAULDRON OF BLOOD.

In closing
Howarth AGAIN??!!

Never has one historian purported to know so much and actually delivered so shockingly little.

Should have my copy by the end of the week.

Would have been great to have Samm Deighan on a commentary track. She loves this film and it has been discussed on the her and Kat Ellingers Daughters of Darkness podcast.

Got my copy today and watched it tonight.

Overall, the print and transfer is much more detailed, sharper and relatively more colorful than any version I’ve ever seen in the past. The print still has occasional speckles and minor scratches throughout but nothing too distracting. Spme scenes have a bit too much edge enhancement/sharpening but considering how crappy it looked in past iterations, anyone familiar with other home video or televised releases of this movie will be happy with the significant improvement in A/V quality in this release.

The three very short clips of deleted footage are indeed taken from a vhs tape source and include literally just a few seconds of additional gore from the celler murder and the kill by the stream (which is oddly not fully complete) as well as the silly final title card at the end of the movie. The quality of the deleted footage is drastically more rough than the rest of the movie.

Fans of this movie should be very happy with this release.

If anyone doesn't have it, I highly recommend it. Love those early 1970s American vampire movies like this, the Yorga films, HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS, LEMORA and THE DEATHMASTER.

Glad I got this one. With this going out of print through SF, could it mean a possible upgrade through another boutique soon?

I pretty happy with the Scream Factory Blu-ray, but if say Arrow was to do the same for this film like they did with THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED, I'd be all over it like a cheap suit!

Yea, I'm enough of a fan of the film to absolutely dip again for some new features. Even a better transfer. It's a shame Pataki is gone.
