As long as the mods deem it worthy I guess.

I’d definitely like to see Contraband and Four of the Apocalypse at the very least get Blu upgrades.

Need recommendations for trashy exploitative cinema. The more boobs the better. I have a little money to spend this season and don't know where to start.

Any recommendation is welcome.

I second the Laura Gemser Emmanuelle films as being good examples of trashy fun. Lots of girl-on-girl action if you like that sort of thing (I do )

Also, pretty much anything by Joe D'Amato is guaranteed to be a great peepshow experience

As I understand it, the rights (beyond Plan 9) have been snapped up by someone, who is doing a Rubenstein Dawn/Martin move by asking crazy amounts of cash for release rights.

It's been on Shudder for a month now, but despite me wanting to see FtB again for YEARS, I've been resisting just to watch it on VS's Blu. But what I remember from the eighties when I last rented it, it was a hell of a flick. Totally underrated slasher(ish) flick.

Thanks, man. So nice to feel accepted as a bush fan (I mean, what's exploitation cinema without bush?) without being ridiculed or chastised.

I just want to make a random movie recommendation: Messiah of Evil (1973). Code Red has a decent release though it could use an upgrade. I blind-bought it and it's now one of my favorite horror films of all-time. It has such a creepy atmosphere that stays with you after the end credits. It's definitely not a fast-paced film but if you go with the flow, it's easy to get hypnotized by it's steadily uneasy vibe. A hidden gem that deserves more recognition!

I've owned this for years after hearing it talked up on the (now defunct) Shock Waves Podcast, but I've never actually managed to watch it. I might just have to pop it in this weekend now. Thanks for the reminder!

Ooh, fun!

For reference see: the vast majority of my collection.

j/k I cherry picked a few movies that I think fit the theme of the thread:

NIGHT KILLER. Probably never played the Deuce, but it's certainly sleazy and awesome and worth your time.

NEW BARBARIANS. This blu-ray is old and looks bad, but the movie is pure fire. You can also get this in a 3 pack with Castellari's other post apocalyptic films. Absolutely essential.

There's a new release of Savage Streets on the way. I'll look into that and the others. I'll see what I can find.

Savage Streets is ace, but given that you weren't keen on A New Beginning, I dunno if you'll appreciate it...

Looking over my collection, the first thing that made me go "Yes! This!" was Beyond the Door III/Amuck Train. That shit is so goddamned Off The Rails (pun semi-intended) that I have no choice but to love it. Not so much in the boobs category - tho there is some - but still hell fun.

Also, seconded for Night Killer. That movie has so many twists and turns (as far as "What genre is the movie at the moment?" kind of way), I got dizzy. Well worth picking up.

I thought The Bees was was a blast. Take your average Irwin Allen boilerplate disaster movie and give it that unique spin that only the Italians could do and run with it.

Lastly - and this one is a pain in the ass to find, but well worth it - The Mad Foxes is such a batshit insane flick, I don't know how to even begin describing it. Just watch the trailer - that'll give you the barest hint of what lies inside.

My biggest problems with Part V are Roy's motivation and the location of the halfway house. That shouldn't be an issue here.

Man, I don't know how Night Killer has eluded me. Sounds like great times! Does it actually have some craftmanship behind it or is it typically so-bad yet somehow so much fun Fragasso/Mattei?

If that's what you're talking about, that cover alone tells me I need to seek this out.

Apples and oranges IMO. I don't see any basis for comparison, apart from the same director. A New Beginning is a disappointing installment in a huge franchise. Savage Streets is a stone cold classic.
