I'm really glad 88 films is finally coming to the US. Is this getting a release in the UK as well? I hope 88 start releasing some of their UK films in the US as well.

It was rejected by the BBFC here i.e. banned, so can't be released in the UK. Though not illegal for someone to import it for personal use.

If you get pulled over just remember to chuck it out the window first. Can't swallow a Blu-ray.

I would love to see them re-release some of their Shaw Brothers titles with the booklets I missed out on, Amuck!, and Alien 2: On Earth.

Wasn't this shortly after they rejected Love Camp 7 (which was to be a VOD release)?

I think Id rather them release films they haven’t released yet on BD anywhere. Especially since most who wanted their UK releases most likely already have them. 88 & Arrow were the major reasons I decided to go region free in the first place.

I laughed out loud at the cover/title. But not really the type of film I like from 88.

88 is one of the best distributors of Asian cinema – hopefully this means going forward they can release these films in both regions like Arrow do.

But it also sounds like maybe they're just releasing this in the US because it's banned by the BBFC? Could just be a one-off, or they might release a handful of similar exploitation titles that wouldn't pass uncut in the UK?

While I love the idea of supporting 88 Films in the states, this movie is pretty ****ing awful. Here, the spoiler-ish free portion of our review, but the TL;DNR was that I kind of liked the production value, the other two hated it:

We'll put it this way. Of all the 6 or 7 Nazisploitation movies on the Nasty List, it's the least terrible.

While I do hope they release new titles, there are a few I never bought due to hope that it would be released here (as I hate the UK rating logos) as well as not going region free yet. I always feel like every territory should have every movie available, despite that not being very practical.

There are ONLY 4 Nazisploitation films on the Video Nasty list

1) The Beast In Heat (Luigi Batzella, 1977) - Not been resubmitted to BBFC
2) The Gestapo's Last Orgy (Cesare Canevari, 1977) - Still banned in UK
3) Love Camp 7 (R L Frost, 1969) - Still banned in UK
4) SS Experiment Camp (Sergio Garrone, 1976) - UNCUT in UK

I'd just get the UK release if I were you & if a US release does come from 88 then you could always sell your copy.

Oddly enough, their first US release makes no mention of including a booklet. That’s not like them.

I wish 88 Films would remember that there are other Asian films besides the ones with Jackie Chan. They’ve been way beyond overkill with that guy’s movies, IMO.

Great movie but the artwork is terrible. Why on earth not using original artwork that are so much better?

The artwork looks so cheap. I hope that we will get the original artwork on the keep case.

Quite a few of the Jackie Chan films have had US releases already including an UNCUT release in the case of Snake In The Eagle's Shadow.

Agreed. Kind of a bad way to introduce themselves to the US lol. I preordered via Diabolik because it's the movie that counts but I hope this is a fluke and 88 carries their tradition of nice packaging over to their US operation. BTW, do they have an actual presence in the US or do we still have to order their stuff from places like Diabolik?

Also, I wonder if they're still going to censor films for 'horse falls' for the US.
