I do wonder if this will lead Indicator to put out more obscure titles, in order to have some that they could release in both territories. This first dual territory slate is quite obscure. I expected them to start off with a bang in the US, putting out stuff that they alreay released in the UK, but as of now, it doesn't look like they have any rights to do Sony releases here yet.

I've been wanting to see Hoffman for sometime now so this is splendid news. The other announcements also sound intriguing so I may be in for this whole slate.

Just got the email this morning. Great news!

I was actually thinking within the last couple months that it'd be cool if Indicator expanded to the U.S. like Arrow. Seeing it happen and way sooner than í would have expected, if ever, is fantastic news. One of the best companies out there!

When is the first U.S. sale? 🤪😋

I only have one PH Indicator in my collection, JC's Vampires. I wanted to pick up Wolf too, but missed out on the booklet. So looking forward to picking up some more Indicator releases. I also hope they keep the same clear cases over this side o' the pond.

One of my top 3 favorite blu-ray labels; this is huge, I hope more people will be getting into indicator because of this.

Surprised they didn't come out guns a blazing with their first US release. Still, interesting line up and still glad they are releasing films here.

This slate is pure Indicator, exactly what I want. While I hope masterpieces like 10 Rillington Place, Hardcore, and Last Detail can get represses, I want constant British hidden gems.

I'm glad to see Indicator start releasing things in the US. They really are an excellent label.

Over in the UK thread, user yoloswegmaster420 pointed out this Guardian article, which confirms Indicator will be releasing some films from Mexico:

Quote:
The archivist hopes that Permanencia Voluntaria’s films will find a wider audience next year when some of them are released on Blu-ray by the Indicator label of the British company Powerhouse Films. The series will include the first two Santo films, female wrestling movies, and Mexico’s first two talking horror pictures, La llorona (The Weeping Woman) and El fantasma del convento (The Phantom of the Convent).
Safe to say most if not all of these will also get US releases, as they surely aren't viable for the UK market alone.

Seeing as a good chunk of Indicator's titles are from Sony, is it expected that Indicator's US arm will still focus on Sony titles and perhaps become the primary licensee of Sony-controlled films?

I’m kind of worried they’ll start re-issuing all the Sony’s they released in the UK that haven’t been released here yet. I’d hate to have to re-buy them again

I do wonder if they have a deal with Sony in the US. It seems a bit odd that their intro to the US are a couple of more obscure titles. I expected them to make a grand entrance, and put out some of their well known Sony titles.

If what the Kino Lorber Insider said is true regarding Sony licensing in the US, it's most likely Indicator haven't worked out an arrangement yet with Mill Creek (of course, what KLI said was a year ago and things might of changed).

The current dollar to pound ration is 1-.73 so a movie that costs 20.99 pounds is almost $29 for those of us in the US. So yeah, we're paying out the wazoo.

That’s a weird arrangement, having Mill Creek be the gatekeeper to Sony’s catalog. I guess Mill Creek gets first dibs on any potential release?

What are the chances we get the Columbia Film Noir sets stateside? I know Mill Creek released some of those films but I’d gladly double-dip to have them done right.

Same. I love their releases of Housekeeping and The Pillow Book so much. I hope titles like Dreamchild (MGM in North America) and Nineteen Nineteen can happen
