Glad to see them actually release this stuff, though 10 shorts seems a bit light for a whole volume.

Steamboat Willie will probably be the only one, but I would be really interested in this if it has an additional one or two B&W shorts.

Full shorts list for Volume 1: Mickey & Minnie has been confirmed

Mickey's Delayed Date, Mr. Mouse Takes A Trip, Bath Day, and Figaro and Frankie are new to Blu-ray, the latter to my understanding is not on Disney+

Hawaiian Holiday also seems to be new to blu as well.

All in all, this seems to be a disappointing set. Only five new to blu cartoons, and only ten in total. I wish they would re-release the treasures sets in HD...

Disappointing? The fact that we're even getting this is a miracle.

Vol. 1? Here's hoping for numerous more volumes (and for other Disney short classics as well).

Well, it IS disappointing. There’s a reason why Disney practically stopped making Mickey shorts in the 1940s (they’re not all that good compared to the flourishing Donald Duck series) and yet there are several of the 40s shorts clogging up this release next to stuff that has already been released and is currently in print on Blu.

Only 10?!!?

Whoever is making these decisions needs to go.

They could easily start a collectible line of Disney short Blu-Rays

Even the cover art is meh

Not exactly a sign that it's time to finally retire my Disney Treasures DVDs, but a step in the right direction.

I agree, it is disappointing, yet in a way it isn't. It's kind of like this: A decade ago, this would have been pathetic. However, when one considers the state of Disney, Disney Home Entertainment and the Disney Movie Club today, what passed for "pathetic" a decade ago is now a step below "amazing."

None the less, I'm disappointed in A.) the number of shorts per volume, B.) duplicates from previous Blu-rays and C.) that it isn't in the same release order as the Treasures were. My best guess is that shorts that were "problematic" a few decades ago, but still at least got released with a video from Lenard Maltin telling us how problematic they are, won't even get released this time.

However, I am excited because after the Mickey Mouse Blu-ray four years ago, I didn't expect them releasing anymore classic shorts ion Blu-ray!

I agree with you. It does sound like we are getting more volumes, however HOW many more volumes will it take to release all of the classic shorts with 10 per set? I suspect it won't happen, that somewhere after volumes 4-10, the line will die out and we'll still be gripping our worn out Disney Treasures DVDs tightly.

I don't Disney ever did a comprehensive restoration of the shorts, like WB recently did for the Looney Tunes on HBO Max. The Disney shorts that get seen in HD are from the same limited pool of cartoons each time.

On Ice will almost certainly be the same copy that was on a Donald Duck Christmas blu that go released in Europe.

I sadly think that any short that was placed in From the Vault (or in case of the first three waves had their own Leonard Maltin introduction before it) on the Walt Disney Treasures sets would be very unlikely to be released in this line. Nor do I sadly think that we’ll get many more black and white shorts. Disney + has been out over three years now and they still have just TWO Black and White shorts. One of which, Steamboat Willie is of course going to be included in this set.

I have a good feeling that we’ll want to hang on to our Walt Disney Treasures sets forever. I think that the only way that they’ll ever release all of the content from those sets on Blu-ray would be if they ever get another executive like Dick Cook that greatly cares about the history of the company.

As this disc is going to have two shorts not on Disney +, Figaro and Frankie and Bath Day. I hope that further volumes have shorts we haven’t seen HD transfers of. What I’m really hoping is that they release a Donald set that has at least a few shorts from Walt Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald Volume Two. That volume had very poor transfers, with the exception of the World War II shorts as they were already restored for Walt Disney Treasures On the Front Lines, and Donald’s Tire Trouble is the only short on the set we’ve seen in HD thus far. I’d love to finally see shorts like Bellboy Donald, The Plastics Inventor, Contrary Condor, Duck Pimples, and Donald’s Double Trouble finally restored! (It’s a shame that the Disney Movie Club Exclusive Blu-rays didn’t include any Bonus Features until 2021, as I bet we would have seen Contrary Condor and Donald’s Double Trouble on the Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros and The Parent Trap 2018 Blu-rays as those shorts were included on their DVD releases in the 2000s.)

Like others, I'm disappointed in the number of shorts on the disc. Why not 20 or 50? But that would probably be too much for Disney to do. Also, why add shorts that we already have on other discs? That is just a waste of space. One can wonder if the new Mickey: The History of a Mouse Documentary will be a Bonus Feature on this disc? Or even the Mickey In a Minute Short? That would be nice.

Thank you I titled it that because it was to commemorate the company's 100 year anniversary but I can see why someone would get confused

If it had been the first 10 chronological Mickeys, I might have gotten more excited because it would seem to foreshadow all of them eventually. But piece meal releases of a few random shorts is probably better than nothing - at least they are finally restoring a few of them in HD.

Some of their early material, especially the material that is now PD like the Laugh O Grams and the Alice shorts (Disney never renewed their copyright) they don't seem to care a bit about. Many of the lesser seen Silly Symphonies had weak transfers on the old DVD sets.

Speaking of that, what is the Disney+ coverage for Silly Symphonies like? If there are any, do they seem to be HD transfers? I could see the big ones like Three Little Pigs and the Old Mill getting this treatment.
